Very nice work on making these Disney cars. The original 50th Mickey birthday car was a dealer's only gift. /any Lionel dealer who ordered so much got the 50 mickey box car for free. When I heard that these cars were out I called a lot of train stores and found one that had the car. They apparently did not realize the value of the car and solid to me for about 10 bucks. I later bought the set that it was to be used with and still have them both. Be careful duplicating these cars as that might be against copyright, etc laws. You should put a label on the bottom stating that it is a repro. TCA has such labels available. You are really a craftsman. I love your work.

Yes, do not open the box. Were there any tell-tale assembly parts packed inside the brown cardboard box? If not, try to locate the Lionel tell-tale parts assembly. For everyone to know, the Goofy train car is made the same as the operating giraffe car. The tell-tale parts will make Goofy bob his head up and down through the boxcar roof as Goofy approaches the tell-tale. The link is for everyone to see the parts required to activate the giraffe. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gamxdXyGa9apsMU And this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpewhKCrg92Aors The detail is in the uprighted sheet metal attached to the base and track.

Hi Bob, Finding a mint and unopened Mickey's World Tour is rare to find. And with shipping costs totaling $31.08, it is an unbeatable value! And it's great that you found a set to operate. You'll only need a tel-tail and tel-tail metal assembly to activate Goofy to go up and down. Understandably, you do not care about the yellow boxcar. However, my preference is that I would be okay with it because the graphics are easy to see. I saw a set at a train show, and there was a red-colored stock car with the same shell molding as the giraffe car. The Mickey World Tour emblem logo was applied to the small flat area of the stock car where the Bronx Zoo identification is stamped. And if my recollection serves me right, inside there may have been the animated goofy. The loco, tender, and train cars were in a brown cardboard box. The seller mentioned that it was a mail-in promotional set. The seller was asking $75.00.

@@bobsworkshop5181 It was very crowded and I had a hard time finding a camping spot. Fortunately I stumbled on a spot after 11pm and was very relieved. About the same time a bird somehow got into my train room at home and messed up a lot of my trees and scenery. Caught him on my security camera flying around. Very weird and nothing I could do 140 miles away. The next day air show was really nice and probably the best weather since I have been going in the late 80s. Absolutely beautiful.! Got to see a B-52 and a British Lancaster for the first time so that was very cool. Not sure what I’m going to do about the train yet. Fix it or pack it up and get ready to hopefully move soon? I have bought and still buy some things from Trainz. There was a time when there were deals to be had but that's few and far between now. If the Menard's items are marked up that much at Trainz just imagine how much the Locomotives and rolling stock that aren't readily available elsewhere are marked up. Each time I purchase from Trainz I feel like I am paying a premium price for whatever I get. There are times when I am willing to pay that premium but I'm never happy about it.

It's important to understand that Trainz gradually decreases their price as the item sits, and items often start higher than market, then gradually decrease. I've gotten many good deals on trainz, but you need to be patient and let the inventory age long enough for the price to fall. In some cases, people will have a higher threshold than you. You need to know what you're buying and check prices.
@bobsworkshop518110 күн бұрын
Believe me, I’m pretty good at checking prices and shop a lot at Trainz.com. 👍🏻

@bobsworkshop5181 I figured.. I just wanted to mention the odd pricing ladder for those that migjt not be familiar. I think it's an interesting business model, as it rewards patient customers who price check but also let's them get top dollar from people who might not be worried about price.
