In the 70s-early 80s Ford used both solenoids on the 460. As in 2 solenoids on one car/truck and used a thin metal strip as a jumper from the large post on the solenoid on the starter to the smaller post on the solenoid on the starter. Seems like that would be the easiest way on most applications of upgrading to this starter would be to just use a jumper wire on the solenoid on the starter like Ford had the metal jumper strip and you would not have to rewire anything.

Just curious if you have any recommendations for bare aluminum wheels. I just had them sand blasted should I use a primer before spraying with gloss black Rust-Oleum? Thanks for any input
@RiggsGarage17 күн бұрын
You might check the recommendations, but usually you shoot a self-etching primer over bare metal as your base. Make sure the primer you use says it works on aluminum. Then you'll have a good tough base that bites into the metal

That was a really nice paint job considering the cheap gun and narrow spray pattern. I'm impressed. Do you recall how long it took until they were dry enough to handle? Oddly, that smoke gray is the same paint I used on my back porch! I'll use some hardener next time, and maybe the Japan dryer as well.

I believe I let them set out overnight. It was a couple weeks before I had time to get the tires mounted, but they were definitely solid. They did a couple hard years on the street, they still look excellent. The only problems with the paint were places I failed to prep it well and it flaked off. Otherwise, the paint itself is glass smooth and very tough

You really don't need a special funnel...just get one that has the spout that fits snug into the radiator opening. I just did this on a 2002 honda that had a small head gasket leak and it continued to bubble. Used K-seal and it sealed it up, no more bubbles.
