Thanks for the tip about the points. I wonder if it'll be useful to dribble some superglue in and around the tabs holding the switch blades into the tiebar before laying the track: probably worth me giving that a go when the time comes. You said you were packing under the tiebars of your points - can I ask what you're using for that? Presumably it has to be something thin enough to fit, but firm enough not to yield the same way the foam does?

Interesting (and delighted) that as far as I could see, you didn’t remove the springs from the points before fitting slow action motors. I assume as they are unifrog, the frog is isolated and it doesn’t affect anything. Great stuff! Enjoying the series.

This is a much-modified 'Tinkerbell' loco as it has a conventional locomotive-pattern boiler, rather than the cylindrical firebox boiler with one piece (as opposed to 'Bullhead') barrel fitted to the prototype and first production 'Tinkerbells'. Very interesting, I wonder why you decided to have all those feed points instead of feeding between the heads of the back to back points on the left? All roads will be live all the time so if you have more than one loco on the layout they will all move at the same time. Foam idea is very good. Cheers

@@ModelRailwaysUnlimited I want electrical reliability, and will only be used with one loco as a shunting puzzle. So not relying on point blades and fishplates will make it more reliable.
