Canyon de Chelly. Used to live in Chinle. If i go back i get my war name. Spent lots of time in Many Farms with my friends Norman and Weezy. R Draper let me camp at the hogan he grew up in in de Muerto. By the river and apple orchards. This belagana didn’t want to leave...

Personally, call myself an American. I do have a history through my ancestors but I don't give a rat's butt about the past. Everything that affects my life is what I make of it. Now and in the future. And I'm guessing that the ancestors of many felt the same way too - they'd be disappointed that so many descendants live for them instead of progressing as productive human beings in their own time.
@shiverarts8284 Жыл бұрын
this made absolutely no sense. The ancestors want us to pray for them and think about them. they are us, they give us strength.
@darz3829 Жыл бұрын
@@shiverarts8284 You're right - this doesn't make sense. For an example, let's try reversing things - think about you today as your your descendant's ancestors. Do you want your descendants to pray for you in years to come? Would you be happy knowing that your descendants spend your valuable life thinking about you (maybe many decades ago for them)? Do you consider that you are your descendants, that your will be them? And how exactly will you be giving your descendants strength? Is that a command to leave money to them? Or maybe just nice platitudes and sayings they can use? I hope at least one person can see how ridiculous our ancestors could see us.

@@darz3829 still don't make sense. All I gotta say is your overthinking way too much

I'm from the Republic of Ireland....we are an island ...very green and very wet...I would love to visit the Navajo nation someday...it looks amazing....Just listening to the people speaking on the video ..I was struck by how similar our Irish Celtic attitudes are, with regard to being close to nature,and a love of storytelling.....
@Author_Helen6 жыл бұрын
I'm from Ireland too and my ex husband is Navajo. I lived with him and his family on the Navajo reservation in Arizona, and yes, ur right, our Celtic attitudes are very similar. Only thing that made me ashamed was, he was fluent in Navajo, and I only had basic Irish. The Navajo are so proud of their language and culture. My in laws had no electricity or no running water, so it was a culture shock for me at first, but it felt magical to be living there too.
