I'm from the Republic of Ireland....we are an island ...very green and very wet...I would love to visit the Navajo nation someday...it looks amazing....Just listening to the people speaking on the video ..I was struck by how similar our Irish Celtic attitudes are, with regard to being close to nature,and a love of storytelling.....

I'm from Ireland too and my ex husband is Navajo. I lived with him and his family on the Navajo reservation in Arizona, and yes, ur right, our Celtic attitudes are very similar. Only thing that made me ashamed was, he was fluent in Navajo, and I only had basic Irish. The Navajo are so proud of their language and culture. My in laws had no electricity or no running water, so it was a culture shock for me at first, but it felt magical to be living there too.

What a great video. I am sharing this with others to not only encourage toursim in our Navajo Nation but to also bring awareness to many who have lived in Arizona most of their lives and have had no awareness to the fact that the Navajo reservation is in Northern Arizona.

This is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I had the honor of visiting monument valley and the Navajo and Lake Powell. It truly takes your breath away. Hope to return some day and stay at the hotel in monument valley. It is truly a awe inspiring place to go. The people were wonderful and the food was good. Love that frybread.

My mom and I were in the Navajo Nation for several days last fall, and we loved every minute. The people were very kind to us (we told them that we're from Europe and that we've always wanted to meet Navajo people and see their land). This video's great, but it's missing the gorgeous pink rocks around Window Rock and the fantastic Window Rock formation. Definitely a must-visit!

Do some Navajos live in Pueblo's?
@codygeewin51666 жыл бұрын
If they are married to a Pueblo then some do. Vise versa their are many Pueblo's who reside on the Navajo Nation because of marriage.

Canyon de Chelly. Used to live in Chinle. If i go back i get my war name. Spent lots of time in Many Farms with my friends Norman and Weezy. R Draper let me camp at the hogan he grew up in in de Muerto. By the river and apple orchards. This belagana didn’t want to leave...

The day I travel to America, I would love to go to Navajo Nation. I really really hate what my people did to that continent, a lot of amazing cultures and/or spiritual ways are getting lost (if not already lost) or being hidden from the rest of the world. I'm sure it would be a very interesting, funny and yet educative experience

I will definitely come to visit.. But i don't like the fact that in order to live on a Reservation you have to trace your ancestors on paper to prove you are part of that tribe. They also want you to be at least 25% Native.. But what if a person from Mexico has 50% Native american dna, but doesn't have the paper to prove he was part of a Navajo tribe or any other tribe out there. Only by the DNA.. He or she will most likely not make the cut
@thehistorynerd85378 жыл бұрын
The whole point of a Reservation is to be the home of the Navajos. They want to keep their culture alive. Some reservations don't have this restriction, but the problem is that if more non Navajo move there, there might be a case where half or more of the people living there are non Native/Navajo
