@EUDronePort Can a C2 drone fly in an A3 category scenario with just A1/A3 training /registration? As a foreigner living outside of EU, it is challenging to undertake & complete A2 training certification prior to arrival into EU.

Hello! Yes, you can fly a C2 drone in A3, with a A1/A3 training certificate. Training certificates proof that you can fly in a determined scenario, not a determined UAS. We hope this helps 😉

@EUDronePort
@EUDronePort 3 ай бұрын

0:19 120 Meters above ground level or above take-off point? Because the DJI Mini 4 is in C0 category, and has 120 meters above take-off point restriction, which in mountains is kinda ridiculous, because you can still fly 20 meters above ground level, and be 120 meters above take-off point…

I thank you, I am a professional pilot and operator apart from being ATPL 6.800 hours, what I am referring to is that in Spain we are a few years behind with respect to community legislation which makes it very difficult for us to be able to work, you said it, You must request coordination with the airports 20 days in advance and also with the Ministry of the Interior 10 days in advance, absurd, what happens if it rains on the day of the operation and you cannot fly? You have to do the coordination again and wait 10 or 20 days, another absurd example, to fly over a country house 18 km from the airport to carry out an inspection of the roof at a maximum of 20 meters above sea level, you have to make a plan. flight and coordinate with the airport, I honestly do not believe that the drone will collide at 20 meters with a commercial plane being so far from the airport but the town is within the CTR, if this is not absurd, what is?@@EUDronePort

On your site it takes 20 days to ask a request … if I want to go in Tenerife , I will probably want to fly in a natural area or near the coast. I go one week on place, I can’t prepare my flight 20 days before. I have to be on the area first. I m a Belgian drone pilote A2, I only fly in Open a1 with my DJI mini 4 pro C0. And on eurodroneport i have to pay 100€ or more to fly …. It’s more easy to fly in Belgium or in the Nordic countries. I hope it will change in Spain or just ban all drones and so it s clear. No that is wrong: first of all here in germany we have a local rule that also older drones under 900gr MTOM are allowed to use the lower restrictions in conjunction with the slowfly mode if available like mavic 1 or 2 air2s etc. And seconds as this rule only applies up to 5m flight height after that the 1:1 rule jumps in! So if you need to inspect or want to do a photogrammetry for measurments then for many buildings you need to fly at least 20 or 30m or for bigger areas 50-75m... that would mean you need to evacuate and block several buildings and streets, what is in almost any thinkable scenario impossible to get realized nevertheless it is impossible to get even permission... also the specific category does not help a lot cause you only get it for very low dense populated areas like under 250/km2 for bvlos what is with bigger buildings (4-5 floors or higher) nearly always the case... a c2 drone like any mavic 3 enterprise has a vlos of only 144m!!! And in most city areas the pilot has not enough space to even see the drone flying on the backside of a building. So the slowflymode is far away from being a gamechanger!!!

Thanks for your detailed reply Michael. We agree in almost all the aspects you mentioned. However, we believe that being able to fly a 4 kg drone, with low-speed mode, low altitude, will facilitate many operations that could previously fall under STS-01.

The remote pilot may reduce the horizontal safety distance down to a minimum of 5 metres from uninvolved people when operating an unmanned aircraft with an active low speed mode function and after evaluation of the situation regarding: a) weather conditions b) performance of the unmanned aircraft c) segregation of the overflown area We hope this helps!
