Hey guys, loving the vids, subscriber for awhile now. Just curious, what tire pressures where u running on the car and van?
@australiabytheballs Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the support 🙌🏼 from memory I think we were running 15psi in the car and 45psi in the van. We did have some wiggle room to drop it further if we had to.
@jazz6435 Жыл бұрын
May I suggest also dropping your van tires the same as you would on your car. It will act less like an anchor digging in and your engine will love you for it 💪🏼. Safe travels!
@australiabytheballs Жыл бұрын
@jazz6435 100% we could have gone a little lower, but cause the van is single axle there's is a lot more weight sitting on each wheel. So the manufacturer recommends inflating the to around 65psi (road pressure) give or take and when offroad say on the beach to 45ish for us it is trial and error (never owning a caravan before) but the best way to learn for us is to get out there and do it 😀

Every summer gets the spectacular lightning storms in Uluru - Kata Tjuṯa and it is fun to watch in the outback sky when the desert rains come during the summer thunderstorm season. I loved to watch the lightning in the sky and I was be careful to be safe during a lightning storm. The flash flooding is a big problem in the Australia’s Red Centre of the Northern Territory. It is similar like the desert monsoon storms in Arizona every summer in the American Southwest. Hiking is great in Kings Canyon and be careful of flash flooding caused by the summer thunderstorms. You need always hear weather warnings systems for the flash flood and the severe thunderstorm warnings in the area in the Australia’s Northern Territory.

Loving your videos. Very nice how you show the reality of the sites….and not too much talking like a lot of the KZbinrs who are too involved with selling their stuff….its all just a nice mix and pleasant to watch. I’m an old girl at camping and caravanning. I hope you like the gatorX as we just put a deposit on a Sting with air…not sting air…not picking up until 2024 feb…we currently have a masterpiece but we want the full off road battery solar system that will operate the air con. Hopefully we will get a good price for our current van…its only 2 years old….

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to pick this up. After rewatching the footage that night we 100% were not in 4x4. That was not on purpose either 😕 but hey we were pretty lucky to get away with it and learnt a big lesson that day 😅

Hi guys really enjoying your vids back in 1978 we were doing the same as you with our two kids we had a 68 Chrysler valiant with slant 6 motor and double axel 20 ft Franklin caravan we got bogged in Cossack near Roebourne wa and when heading to Brooke the rear u joint started failing we were lucky the Chrysler dealer had one in stock and we changed it on the side of the road, it had been running in the sand and had got sand in the needle bearings so keep an ear out for growling. Stay safe Florida USA

Looks like a superb spot you guys found there on Hipcamp, will keep that in mind. We pick up our new Gator X in June and my wife & I will head straight up that way on our 1st road trip from VIC. You happy with the Van so far? ie towing / ease of use, in general etc? and would you suggest an extra Solar Panel for those cloudy days? Or can you get by with the 2 - anyway, enjoy your travels - cheers
@australiabytheballs Жыл бұрын
That so exciting! We love our van it's super easy to use you will love it 😍 If you can add another solar panel I'd 100% do it you can never have too much solar. Or you could look at getting a blue Anderson plug wired in during the build and carry a solar blanket 🤔 or both...... 🤣
