New Caravan Bogged on QLD Beach | Beach Camping | 4x4 | Off-grid

You read that right, we got our 2022 JB Gator-X caravan bogged at one of the best beach camps in QLD. Its ok to make mistakes as long as you learnt from them, right? Well, we learnt a lot from this one and its only PART 1.

First bog is the hardest!! sounds like a song title. Good job guys you made that look easy!! I wish I’d got more footage of our first bog at Winderabandi!! We done a good job of it and weren’t getting out without help lol I wasn’t handling it too well lol!!

Oh yeah it gets very soft at Winderabandi, that would have been fun 😅 if you're getting stuck that means your out there giving it a red hot crack! Don't worry it's not the only time we get stuck at Teewah with the van.

Hi guys really enjoying your vids back in 1978 we were doing the same as you with our two kids we had a 68 Chrysler valiant with slant 6 motor and double axel 20 ft Franklin caravan we got bogged in Cossack near Roebourne wa and when heading to Brooke the rear u joint started failing we were lucky the Chrysler dealer had one in stock and we changed it on the side of the road, it had been running in the sand and had got sand in the needle bearings so keep an ear out for growling. Wow that would have been an advantage, it would have really been the wild west back them 🙌🏼 we always give the gear a good wash down after each 4x4 trip but we will be sure to keep an eye on it 😀 Ps so stoked that you are watching from the USA

Great video guys. Suggestion, if the car / van goes down, disconnect it from the 4wd and you are suddenly 2t lighter. Get the car sorted then winch / snatch the van out separately

Great suggestion 🙌🏼 we had a couple more tricks up our sleeve to get out (that was definitely one of them), luckily we didn't need to do it 😀

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to pick this up. After rewatching the footage that night we 100% were not in 4x4. That was not on purpose either 😕 but hey we were pretty lucky to get away with it and learnt a big lesson that day 😅

What zone did you end up staying in after the bog?

We ended up staying in zone 4, which is what we booked. Just had to go a little further up the beach to find a spot.
