9mm can be a little less to reload I’ll give you that but I don’t reload 9mm but I do reload my 10mm, 45acp, 44magnum, 357magnum, 38, and 500 magnum. Those are considerably less to reload than box ammo. It is fun but you better be careful and diligent in your process.

The issue is that most people compare the cheapest remanufactured rounds to essentially match grade personal reloads. When they start comparing match grade commercial ammo to personally reloaded match grade, the cost savings will be more evident!

Back in 1968 and 1969 when I started reloading 30-06 it was costing me about 7 cents a round. 0.5 cents for the primers. About 2 cents for the powder and 5 cents for the bullet which were high end Sierra bullets. Around 7 cents each. $1.40 for 20 rounds. I was buying surplus 30-06 ammo for $2.00 a box mainly for the cases.

My Temu experience; They're terrific at low tech stuff like rugs, towels, simple hand tools, sink drains. Anything electronic is more hit and miss, tending to work well at first, but having a short lfe span. The more moving parts in an item, the more likely it is to fail. Clones are generally sort of a bargain for non-critical use, because you get 1/2 of the quality for 1/4 of the price. Ads are often misleading, so read very carefully. Overall, I find them worth dealing with if you shop carefully. When I get a total POS, I always post a negative revue, because about 20% of the time the merchant volunteers a refund. YMMV

I had the means to stockpile a bunch of reloading components years ago and also traded range brass for most of my reloading equipment. I've given complete equipment setups to people that wanted to start reloading and was glad to help out. But I'd hate to be starting out right now with the prices these days. With that being said though, as others have said prices aren't gonna go down. IF you decide to reload 9mm, definitely use range brass and if you can, get lead out of the berm for casting. I've got hundreds of thousands of pieces of 9mm brass and a couple of hundred pounds of lead. YES, you are gonna have to get a melting pot and mold, but using range lead and brass will really help you save.
@jacobstaten236619 сағат бұрын
I thought about getting a mold to cast lead and trying to figure out what kind of coating I could use on them. I can find lead and even buy it fairly cheap. I like to listen to audiobooks and videos while I'm doing stuff like this.

Two popular coatings are Moly (easy, cost effective no setup costs, just tumble in a can) and powder coating (more processes and equipment needed).

Um - you do know that SimplySafe - and any wireless security system - can be easily jammed, and bad guys know this? I know it's a major pain, but running a hardwired loop that sets off an alarm when broken is really best. A hardwired video system with motion/shape detection to let you know if it's the mailman, burglars, or the cops you called because you saw the aforementioned burglars (would be rather unfortunate to get shot by friendly fire) is a good idea also.
@ReLoadersBench17 сағат бұрын
No disagreement. I look at my home security approach (locks, door enhancements, cameras, security system, dog, etc.) not necessarily as prevention (albeit hopefully) but dissuasion. The more unappealing or challenging my home is to break into, go onto the next, less challenging home on your list. If a bad person wants entry into my home badly enough (and has all the right tools as you highlight), there's probably little I can do to prevent that as everything is defeatable, it just depends on what one is willing to spend in order to delay that inevitable defeat. I took, for me, a balanced approach.

Very Very nice video on the topic, As a reloader we are always looking at over all cost and take advantage of sale items when it occurs. Time it is a hobby and it’s during my free time I reload. Winter come’s and it’s cold, spend the afternoon of a few hours at the most reloading and with my Dillon 550B I try to reload maybe 500 rounds of one caliber, then I am stocked up for a while. Another weekend another caliber and so forth. Not that i shoot every week, but I have the rounds ready when in the mood. Always practice safe reloading procedures! Good job, keep them coming! Happy 2025 to everyone.

Back in 1994 i bought a Lee Anniversary kit for $75. A # of powder was 14-25 and primers were 12 a 1000 and cast bullets were 15 per 500 for 9mm and .38/.357 and 24 per 500 for .44 and .45 at the gunshows. I could load 9 for 2.50 per 50 and 5 for .45 ACP and .45 Colt. Got a Dillon 550 in 1997. Fast forward to 2019, powder was 25+ primers were 35 per 1000 and cast bullets went to $50 per 500. Covid gits and now primers were 300 per 1000 powder was 50+ if you could find any. Cast bullets stayed the same. Luckily l had stockpiled before hand not knowing it was coming. Powder is now 50+ a pound (why) primers can be had for 70-80 per 1000, cheaper online, but you have to pay haz-mat and shipping. I have been casting my own bullets for 15 years with my Lee 10# "drip-o-matic" bottom pour.

i’ve been buying from Temu for over a year and a half. Many times I’ve complained about an item and they just let me keep it in return my money. I never had to give them my personal information. I pay with a debit card and they have my address and name. I’ve gotten some pretty good products, but you do have to look closely. The images can be deceiving. A point of notice is many of the items coming off. Amazon are coming out of Temu and they’re marked up.
