You probably already know this, but a grinding wheel can supposedly ruin the temper unless it's one of those water cooled ones. A belt or just a puck is probably the best way to go.

I can't remember what verbiage I used, but I do use a puck for my axes. Might touch it up at the end with my Field Guide Sharpener. Thanks for the info!

Why would you want a splitting axe to be razor sharp?

Honestly, because why not 🤷♂️ lol

What camera are you using it with and also, does it work on cropped sensors? Like the SL2.
@kevinduver6 жыл бұрын
I'm using the Canon 6dmk2 and Rebel T7i. It does work with both full and cropped sensors, the only difference being, with a cropped sensor it won't be 15mm at its widest. Due to the "crop" of the crop sensor, you have to multiply the focal length by the crop factor of your camera. (Canon is 1.6, so 15x1.6= 24mm). So in reality, it would be a 24-48mm for the SL2. Hope that helps! Either way, yes I still recommend this lens, crop sensor or not.

I am thinking about getting this lens as well, but can't decide between this and the canon 16-35 f4 is. Did you contemplate between the 2 lenses? If so why did you choose to go with tamron vs canon? Great video and content....subbed.

I personally would choose this lens DEPENDING on what you'll do with it. I returned this lens because it had a problem with an aperture blade, but I think that is a rare instance with this lens. Also, it was difficult to Glidecam with this lens because it is so heavy towards the front. I bought the 35mm f2 from Canon and it is an absolute dream IMO. As far as wide angles, I'm looking at the Sigma 14-24mm, and both Canon 16-35 2.8 and 4.0. The biggest downside of course being, 4.0 isn't great in low light. Do I recommend the Tamron? Yes. I would still like to have one, but just haven't found the need to order one ATM.

KevinDuver515 Currently I am only doing photography as a hobby and want to get into video. That is good to know that it doesn't work that well on a glidecam. Thanks for the info. Take care and looking forward to your next video.

Thank you KJ and you're welcome! I've recently been focusing my efforts on the KZbin channel "MotoConvo", but as winter rolls back around, I'm sure I'll be doing more with this channel!
