what's crazy is that this while perfect, would still not even get 1st chair in my area because kids are this good and just play faster
@qekruxt50892 ай бұрын
this guy's tone quality is better than most, if not all, texas all-staters' tone qualities. he'd be 1st chair at area and having a really expensive, professional clarinet like his really helps with that. and you're not being auditioned on only this etude. there are 3 etudes. texas all-staters are not as good as you think they are. they squeak, miss notes, etc at auditions
@donovanknust1650Ай бұрын
@@qekruxt5089 im in texas and have known all staters. this guy would definitely be top 10 or 15 at state. but, there are some who are just so good, and practice so much. There are kids in my area who have made top 10 before. I know them and played with them before. There was a freshman my freshman year who got 2nd at state. So no, he wouldn't get first. he would be outpracticed. Now, with the same amount of time to prepare, yes I'm sure he would beat them, but this recording alone, and not accounting for other etudes, no he would not place 1st at an area audition in my area.
@qekruxt5089Ай бұрын
@ i was in the same area as someone who later made first chair 6a all state and id say they’re around equal in skill. He’d make first or second chair in any area. No way he’d make 10th chair. I knew a kid who was around 10th chair all state and he squeaked a lot

Some support (lmk if I made mistakes or missed anything) E# = F Natural B# = C Natural x F (F Double Sharp) = G natural. (M. 7) A# = B Flat. 0:56: E, D#, D, C#, B, A, G#, B, A, F# 1:33: You’re basically rolling/playing really quickly these notes, A, B, A, G#, A (M. 19) 1:42: trill E to F#, then optional Grace Notes D# and E. (M. 22) 1:49: Trill G# to A then play F double sharp. (M. 24) 1:51: Trill A to B then G# (M. 24) 2:14 This is just a repeat of Measure 3, the Roll is the same as the 32nds (M. 30)

Do you know any tips or alternate fingerings for G# to A? Whenever I do it, it sounds clunky and weird
