I had a Silverton with those engines. After 7 years of my ownership and 700 hours (1900 hours total) the only money spent engines outside of regular service was having the idle adjusted in one of them. They were rock solid, I love those engines. Also, they do leak oil, you get used to it, if they aren’t leaking you have a problem.

Nice. The back (east) side of Catalina is even more beautiful. Dramatic landscape generally in full sunlight, and with a sense of solitude that makes it hard to believe you're less than 40 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

Honestly, as someone who could put this boat in using just the props & rudder, I find it ridiculous that this was made to look so difficult when in reality someone who has never helmed a boat could do this using the Volvo IPS

@@WhiskeyGulf71This was her second time docking a boat of any kind or size, in reality this is literally someone who has never helmed a boat using the Volvo IPS. I think she did quite well considering that a $40,000 paint job on the side of the boat even makes me nervous as the instructor. For someone who is experienced, the point is not that you can or cannot do it. it's the ease in which you can do it. That's very appealing to older well heeled salty dogs. Thanks for watching!

Back in the early seventies I just recently got out of the us army living in westchester a suburb of Los Angeles ran into a high school friend his dad owned a canvas sail making business in marina del Rey told me they were making the new sails on Peter Fonda sail boat invited me down to the boat it was awesome I will never forget that…Peter wasn’t there that day I did see him at the airport when I was working for the airlines many times very nice person he was always flying up to montana…
