In fairness, Oathsworn is incredible. But great video. I feel like many of these points are almost a right of passage. But there is so much truth in this video.

Magic Maze fell into the Steep Learning Curve category. I would play it for 15-20+ minutes with a couple of students at the end of a class. 2-3 weeks later I would get a chance to play it again and it felt like we were restarting again from the early scenarios. I could never get to the advanced scenarios. But I love the concept of it. Great video

Barcodes are required for shop sales - they go on the side as specified by the US market. Parents Choice award is also for the US market. But we will be certain to pass on your feedback to the Kosmos publishing team!

There's this french publisher called "Matagot" who used to have these dull gray spines on every game they published. I hate that my copy of Scythe looks like this. They now stopped doing that and instead just put their logo on the spine. It's much better but I'm not gonna buy the same game twice lmao

That was not the first US release of Settlers of Catan. The first and second release was a dark brown box and the tiles used photos instead of artwork. 2nd edition was the same cover, but had 4 different colored player pieces so you could combine two sets and play with up to 8.

British person being absolutely neurotic about completely mundane things for a needlessly long period of time, should be an entire KZbin category. Yes, I watched the entire thing, don't look at me. XD

So this popped up in my feed. I just have one thing to say: You and I have VERY different board game taste. You have 250 games, and there may be 10 games there I enjoy or have any interest in playing.

Very nice review, but one thing I´m not so sure about: the little games. These games are so tiny that you can display them anyway you want. Don't need to stack them into a big pile. Just display them on a shelf with small space or display them in front of something else, games or books or whatever.

Offhand, I think the only major house rule we have done recently was changing how food was used in Tainted Grail to avoid having to grind for more food after every few game days, because that was the one thing about the game that my wife and I were finding not-so-fun.

Dominion is a brilliant game but a box that size for a deck of cards is ridiculous. And the insert actually makes it harder to organise than if the cards were just randomly strewn all over the floor. Then with expansions, you need a full-size shopping trolley if you actually want to take it anywhere. However with a cut-up picture frame and some custom dividers I've managed to get the base game and four expansions all in the original box (minus the poxy insert of course). Weighs a bloody ton mind

The concept of Scrawl seems amazing, if you're on a budget you can just grab paper and a pen and choose movie/book titles, that's how I played it as a kid and it was H I L A R I O U S

The reason text along the edge is aligned in the "wrong" direction, is because Germany. My girlfriend is German and since we put together our book collection, we found the same problem. The text is also wrongly aligned there. It's really the standard over there.

Great video! For me, the Canvas (plus expansions) boxes are very well designed. The fact that they can be hung up so you can (lie in) wait for someone to comment on them and you can reply with "want a game?" 😁 I LOVE that. Not only can they be hung/displayed together, forming one picture, but if you're storing them flat, the name of each can be found on the top of the decently-sized boxes. Move over, Mona Lisa.

I thought he'd be talking about boxes, not box art. Dungeon had a terrible box, it holds the board, though if it could have been folded twice then the box could be square. And it doesn't hold together, the corners pop out, so you can't put anything on top of it. Lords of Waterdeep is terrible too. It's much longer than my other games, so it gets damaged when carrying in a bad with other games. The insert isn't good at holding pieces in place if this box gets turned, but that's another issue. Then the box top doesn't cover the whole depth of the bottom. What's up with that?

My only real issue with this tier list was Sagrada. I think it at least deserves to be a beauty contest award recipient. Other games that I think deserve love: High Society, Secrets, Inhuman Conditions, Campy Creatures and Space Park.

There's so much empy space in that Lost Cities box that I use it to store not only the cards but a bunch of Buttonshy games as well. And when I found an old edition of Lost Cities at a thrift store, I was able to get those cards into that box with everything else.

I feel like PARKS is gambling for being displayed front side up, because of how gorgeous it looks. Also I adore that on the german version, by Feuervogel, is a diagram how to pack it properly. And Parks should get extra points for how efficent it uses its box

I mostly agree with your list, but want to mention that I sleeved my copy of Scythe after noticing the battle cards were actually getting worn from being played so much, and Oathsworn is an excellent game, seriously one of the couple of games in my collection that I consider S-tier, with a cheaper cardboard standees option if you don't want to shell out for the miniatures. (Full disclosure: I'm a painter and did buy the miniatures.) My wife and I also love Twilight Struggle, but we are both history buffs, so the game probably appeals to us more than most.

Canvas (+expansions), Unfair (+expansions) and the Century Trilogy. I just like the way that the artwork flows across the boxes; and thematically speaking with Canvas, the boxes are even designed to be hung on the wall.

That orange game behind you was driving me to distraction trying to remember what it was: Secret Hitler! And since watching this the first time, I've gotten Sheriff and Magic Maze. First was a hit, second I've only tested solo and with Dad so far to prepare the teach. Looking for shorts to showcase those games for my birthday event on Facebook, clips of your video here are the best short, useful, non-boring explanations of those games. You might consider making those clips into standalone videos 😊
