Hmm, as an American who has lived in Canada for 30 years here's the differences: Canadians aren't assholes and are actually polite and humble. Even at an "event" they're quiet. No one is shooting someone so our kids are safe at their schools and people aren't clamoring for guns and we don't miss them. People are patriotic but don't chant: "Canada, Canada, Canada," like idiots in the states who scream "USA, USA, USA." Some people are religious but don't act like assholes about it. We pay taxes that contribute to a national health care system (Americans think that's socialism, even if it was, so what) and no one here knows what a co pay is, a deductible or a preexisting condition. It's a prosperous nation and very high quality. There.

Come to the Kootenays it's beautiful here. Not to cold it sure doesn't get cold like Ontario . I'm not sure about the snow fall in Ontario, In BC it depends on where you are living on the snow fall and how cold it gets, Creston BC don't have to much snow and it doesn't get really cold

I can just imagine how lovely it is there. The snowfall in Ottawa can be nasty. I remember one winter, it was up to my knees, and I looked at my car, and just wanted to leave it buried there lol. Nice couple and presentation. Most of these various "whats Canada like" tutorials seem to originate from Eastern Canada, either Toronto, Ottawa etc.. The viewers should know that Canada in terms of Land mass is the 2nd largest Country on Earth traversing several time zones, so life varies depending on where you live. Life in Toronto is much different than most other Canadian cities. Ottawa is a beautiful city. So is Vancouver on the west coast. People interested in moving to Canada should familiarize themselves with the whole country before automatically moving to Toronto, which is the most expensive place to live in the country. 🇨🇦🍁🇨🇦

@paranoidrodent
@paranoidrodent 3 жыл бұрын
The "Trono" pronunciation is a variation on the old Torontonian accent pronunciation of "T'rana". Most Ontarians pronounce it something like that. Toronto used to have a distinct accent different from the rest of Ontario that was a little reminiscent of the Bronx accent. It faded away as the population boomed in the late 20th century and is nearly extinct (you can still hear some older folks who have it - my uncle does - but many have moved out to the burbs). I don't think anyone under 60 is likely to have the old Torontonian accent now. Torontonians today just have a Canadian Standard accent like most other urban residents between Vancouver and Ottawa. They were still calling it T'rana back when I lived there in the late '90s. Dunno if that has changed.
