When both of your "batteries" are connected, they are a single, 12v battery. No need to charge separate. You are making it harder than it needs to be. Leave both attached and just need to charge one, as they are connected.
@south_coast17 күн бұрын
I understand what you’re saying. I’ve had some slow start issues, so I wanted to charge them separately in case one of the two is damaged.
@robisky118 күн бұрын
Nice video. Let me know if you need to borrow my 14 and 16 mm for the install. Just kidding. I know exactly what it's like to need a tool mid project and can't find it. Only to locate the damn thing the very next week. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the offer @Robisky1 I’ll give you a call if I need them while I’m putting it all back together.
@InLineDiesel619 күн бұрын
There is no need to disconnect the batteries, charge them in place with a single charger. The RAM HD diesels come with two batteries wired in parallel. So charging one battery automatically charges the second battery, you only need one single channel charger. On my RAM Cummins, I use a single channel 4 amp Battery Tender wired to the passenger side battery and this keeps both batteries at full charge when I'm not using the truck. I wired into the passenger side battery, less busy on this side.
@south_coast19 күн бұрын
Thus is true, for general charging. If there is a suspected parasitic drain, or the need for a repair cycle on a batter it is better to have them disconnected and charging separately, in my opinion.
@InLineDiesel619 күн бұрын
@@south_coast Is the parasitic drain constant or periodic. It is normal for a periodic use of power, for example, the RF-HUB will wake periodically to snif for its key FOB signal. If the drain is constant then you need to find out why. First, isolate one of the batteries and see if it looses power, then try the other battery, if they pass, this elimantes a defective cell in the battery. The next step would measure power across the fuses to see which circuit is using power. There are tons of KZbin videos detailing this process. A bad acting battery can take down a good battery since they are wired in parallel. I just installed new batteries a few month ago because one battery was a bad actor and it took time to find the cause. Even though I have a jump pack capable of starting a 6.7L, I found out a bad battery can pull the power from the jump pack and you have a no-crank. I hate being stranded. I did get 8 years out of the factory batteries in a Michigan climate.

Time is money, and for the price, wouldn’t it be worth it to just change out the complete u joint axle? The price difference from what I’m seeing is negligible.
@timberslasher489922 күн бұрын
I just knock the caps out and change them on the truck. These are pretty light duty compared to what I usually work on....lol.
@south_coast22 күн бұрын
Cool. I don’t have anything that can press the new caps in while the axles are still in the truck. It is easy enough to pull them out and use the shop press.

This deck linkage system on Bad Boys needs some work. I can see these loosening and moving over time. Needs fine tuning ability especially on mowers costing $8000 plus. Great mowers for money and no mowers are perfect.

I have only had it come out of adjustment once since 2019 and I’m pretty rough on it. I do agree though, some finer adjustability would be nice.

Your yard is too big for a push mower. Ideally that size would be a rider.
@south_coastАй бұрын
I just use the push mower for the Bermuda that is right around the house. I cut the rest of the yard with a 60” zero turn
@markwoten6679Ай бұрын
Always set the correct mower height according to the time of the season. Don’t scalp your grass which will allow disease to spread across your yard.
@south_coastАй бұрын
Cut height is also dependent on the grass type.

Nice video but I wish you would have said more about SAFETY in this video. Furthermore it’s not a good practice to wear flip flops when dealing with a mower.
@south_coastАй бұрын
Thanks for the comment and input. There is not a whole lot to mention safety wise with this type of mower vs any other mower. This video was more to look at this particular mower. Also I wear flip flops a lot when I’m around the house and in the garage. I do wear proper shoes when mowing though.

Don't forget to torque your lug nuts to specific tension. You will avoid; losing the nuts, breaking the bolt when overtigthened, or worse losing your tire on the highway.
@south_coastАй бұрын
This is a good point. Ideally that would be the case. Most of the time I’m not reaching for a torque wrench though. 90% of the time I just use the lug wrench. I refuse to use an impact on them though.

Well my fear of NO GREASE FITTINGS on the spindles of my 2024 BB XT 60 has been proven. 51 hours and 7 months old and the bearings are shot. Chinese Bearings 3 with some kind of rust grease and 3 with very little grease at all. I never washed my mower just blew it off and it lived in a barn.

Man that is no good. Hopefully your dealer gets you fixed up. If not, I have seen guys swapping the bearings out for non sealed bearings and adding grease fittings so they can be maintained.

Ear Protection. I use corded Ear Plugs to help save my hearing. Muffs work great too, if they are mounted on a hard hat. We just had to cut our way out of our neighborhood due to Hurricane Helene clobbering our area. We cut over 60 trees just to be able to reach the highway. There were no small ones either. My Stihl saw was super sharp and made the chips fly. Thanks for sharing your video tips. God Bless.

Good video - common sense. Your mower will last at least 20 years with that level of cleaning and regular maintenance... I just bought my Maverick, will use it for first time this week! Retiring a 20-year-old Craftsman garden tractor that is still in great shape taking care of it like you do.
