They cant even come close to finishing a 1.5 hr harescramble in dry conditions. Nothing but a yard bike. They are nowhere near as good as people want you to think. They get smoked by ICE bikes
@cale168
@cale168 2 ай бұрын
In my opinion other than battery life, the main drawback is the lack of a lever that replicates a clutch. There's a lot of wrist movement that has to happen the entire time you are riding. Otherwise its insanely easy to ride compated to ICE.

Ripping on that thing. Try going one smaller on the front sprocket. You can run a lower power setting and get the same effect and get a little more range. You are more of a man than me running it at 60! I’ve run that in the deep mud and on the road but it’s way too much for me haha

I'm planning on going up to a 52 on the rear since I run 14-52 on my 450s but I have also tried a moto at 45hp one day and it didn't seem to help range much if at all.

@cale168
@cale168 3 ай бұрын
Yes, I always bring my changer and a second bike to a practice. I'll ride the Varg one session, then ride a gas bike the second session while the Varg is charging, and just go back and forth until I am done riding. I am not sure when there will be any races in Michigan/my area that allow electric bikes. I didn't purchase the bike with the purpose of using it as a race bike, mostly as a way to put less hours on my gas bikes since the electric is so much better on maintenance. There are a few tracks around that aren't AMA that I don't usually race, but maybe I will check one of them out this year.

Which HP and Engine Brake/Regen setting did you use? My Varg at 40hp is at least as powerful as my CRF250.

@cale168 3 ай бұрын
Yeah they can be insanely fast! I typically set to 60HP and play with the regen based on what my second bike for the practice day is. I've been doing 30-50 ish with two strokes and up near 80 with my 450 . At 60 it was digging through this dirt like crazy!

The ground has started freezing here so no races going on locally for a while. We will see in the spring. I've heard the AMA doesn't allow them as their insurance has the same concern of electric bike riders not being seen, but the rules also aren't super clear yet.

How much time have you spent on the bike and how long does it take to get used to the jumping characteristics?
@cale168
@cale168 7 ай бұрын
I think I'm at 6 or 7 track days now, jumping itself is not very different from gas bikes, so I'd say 2 laps in just jumping. How the throttle changes the pitch of the bike in the air takes a bit to get used to though, probably 40 minutes or so until I didn't have to think about it anymore.

@@cale168 Would you say you are faster on the Stark compared to a gas bike?
@cale168
@cale168 8 ай бұрын
@@blastaboneI'd say it's like the jump from two stroke to four stroke was. You can still go just as fast on the two stroke. But every mistake is minimized. Same with the jump from 4 stroke to electric, you'll never be in the wrong gear because you cant be. Right now you can't control the power curve on the stark, but I think once you can customize that, it'll be hands down faster. You have no excuse not to get the holeshot against gas now, that's for sure!

I’m old school I guess I don’t buy into the global warming argument for me it’s another form of control just like kill switches in cars after 2025 it’ll jus be easier to control you as a populous if all ya got to do is flick the switch off on anyone individual or a large mass of people they will control your means of travel and communications how’s that being free and all the people just want to rush into it with open arms and naive minds

Great riding ! You are flying !!! I love your non biased attitude. I am really interested in this bike (and all bikes that will come) and because of that I am happy for tests like you did. In numbers: you started around 3:30 of the video with 70hp and felt a little unsafe around 17:50. The power was there but you didn‘t trust the power because it felt not consistently the same as before ? And around 21:00 it was not safe to ride anymore….. That means with your skill and between 70 and 80 hp (I have never heard anybody tried to that power mode for such a long time…👍) the bike can handle around 14,5 minutes of riding…. It would be really interesting to see you ride with the same intensity on a hard pack track and test how the battery will react there….
