Hei. Takk. 125 er nok for winter, spesielt med automat gir og liten hjulene. Har kjørt en yamaha Tmax 500 igår og dette er helt for mye. Når det kommer til service på GS'en bare å gi beskjed. Mvh Mcdoktor

Not so much with spikes. Without spikes, it would be a different story but it's ok as long as there is snow and ice on the road. On asphalt bike dance a little so I stick to snowy parts of the road.

Excellent video, I use to add some Liqui Moly Motorbike-Additive 1581 to the gasoline when the bike sits for a few months, I am not shure if that also helps agains the water in the fueltank and carburators/injectors? Do you have a purchase link for that nice long 90 degrees screwdriver?
Ducati should name all their bikes Monstro....just for having to work on them. I have happily owned bikes from every Japanese manufacturer. Fast, easy to work on (mostly), durable, reliable. End of story.

Are there anyone still on these chats ,I have a dr800 dual sport but won't swing the starter motor ,what I would like to know is how to bypass the kick stand switch and bypass the decomp/interlock relay
@McdoktorАй бұрын
Hi. The easiest thing to do is to cut and loop the cabels.
@neiletsebeth7937Ай бұрын
Thanks I did bridge the black/white and green wires together but did nothing as I know the kick stand switch is faulty/open circuit, tested the clutch switch is working and neutral light is working but not sure how to test the decomp unit/interlock and there like another little black device, not sure what it is
@McdoktorАй бұрын
@neiletsebeth7937 decompression hendel has little sensor under.
@neiletsebeth7937Ай бұрын
@Mcdoktor thank you ,could you please advise on how to test it ,my problem I'm having is when I press the start button I'm not getting a signal to the solonoid, but if I bridge the top of the solonoid it swings the starter motor over but my lights come on and the neutral light works when in neutral and when I put it in gear it goes off . Is there any way to bypass the decomp unit and sensor
@neiletsebeth7937Ай бұрын
Please if you could give me some more information on decomp unit, what is its function, from what I can see it switches the red/white wire with yellow/black which would allow the starter motor to swing but what are the other function s of the unit ,meaning does it also Affect the decompression solonoid (timer)and if there's any other function s ,also if you could please advise if there is a different way to bypass that unit by using possibly two relays instead ,thanks your help would be greatly appreciated.

My truck brakes are going out and I hate cold weather car work. So I do have my 300l. So I’m looking up the feasibility of doing this. I suppose it’s feasible. Is it scary thinking you could just slip out at anytime and eat snowy pavement?
@McdoktorАй бұрын
The scariest is the big 18-wheeler going opposite direction on the right side corner. Paranoia kicks in, and you think you will fall and slide right under it. Then, you focus on that 18-wheeler, and you go right at it. Big wehicles around you are scary. Rest is just fun.

Great video ! I like the way you share the knowaleage and expiriance ! I have question regarding throtle exchange you made. I can see on the vide that you have a new throtle and ignition button. I also think to rplace it as stock parts feels chip and not reliable. Doeas it need also to change the cables or you did id without changing it ? What throtle you have ?
@Mcdoktor2 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for your support. My throttle grip and cables are from 2022 yamah tenere 700. I made it to somehow fit the crf.The start button is actually a universal kill switch from dirtbikes. It says "ENGINE STOP" on it, but it's for starter. Original kill switch cables are cut and soldered together behind the head lamp. Horn, it's a horn. Hi beam, is hi beam and turning light switch is actually "stealth mode". To the right is all lights on and to the left it shut down all the light completely. So you can hide in the forest at night. 🤣

Do you think the 800 would work as a winter hack bike and i could keep my Yamaha super tenere 1200 clean and dry over the winter.Thank you.
@Mcdoktor2 ай бұрын
Hi. It will work, but....... There are some issues, at least for me. It's heavy. When i ride in winter on crf300, I fall once every 30 minutes. And then I can just lift the bike alone most of the time in 15 seconds. Dr. big, it's big and heavy. In some positions, for example, in a dich in snow almost upside down? This might be hard if you are alone. Also, the torque and power. It's too much for snow and ice. It will lose grip a lot. Even being single sylinder, 800 is too much for winter to maintain grip on the rear wheel. I had lots of drag races on frozen lakes, and first of the line, it's always the smalest, least power bike. It is overtaken after 100m by more powerful bikes, sure. But of the line is better, simply because it doesn't have enough power to spin the wheel. It's a nice bike, but I went to 300l from 700 tenere because of that, and now I even think 125 will be even better for winter riding.
@derrickmurphy98592 ай бұрын
@Mcdoktor Thanks for the reply here in Ireland we don't get too severe of winters just plenty of muck and dirt on the back roads and some road salt and the good bike gets destroyed so the dr800 would probably do that job fine.i ride alone usually and there is not a lot of off roads tracks in Ireland just a very small amount. Once the big 800 would be reliable enough because the Yamaha teneres have never let me down.👍👍

@@Mcdoktor Yes, I am happy with the new sprocket, I've changed the chain guide because the chain was touching the guide. I bought one from zeta, but you do not have to buy a new chain guide, you can simply turn the rubber piece upside down to have more room for the chain.

@javierpallalorden2 ай бұрын
For me the stock suspension works fine, I'm like 68kg and do not need fancy expensive suspension. And it all depends how and where you ride. I do mostly light enduro (90% off-road and 10%-try to avoid on road) and the stock suspension works for me.

Ssoooooooffffttttt!!! Nice and comfy on streets and flat offroad roads. If you are planning to go fast offroad, any type of offroad obstacles, or jumps, then you should start to think hard about upgrading. But if you want to do anything like above, then I think you are looking at the wrong bike in the first place. Crf300l it's farm, easy trail, forest, comut and everyday usable bike. To go hard offroad CRF450RL. Or any other bike that was designed for that, but someone put lights on it.
