As someone who has previously purchased the vhs of Back to the Future, the dvd box set of Bttf and the bluray of Bttf, and then lost their players to thievery... I ain't paying for more. I spent my money now I'm gonna watch the movie how I want.

set a reasonable price with a decent catalog, I'm in. try to nickle and dime me by region locking stuff or being big brain and pulling the content you own off other sites to create your own dead platform and suddenly, I'm on a ship.

@PeacenikHippieАй бұрын
I always thought that piracy was kind of silly because, one, just because a song/movie/game/whatever exists doesn't mean you are entitled to have a copy of it (thinking otherwise is somewhat selfish), and two, it's not like there's any shortage of affordable alternatives on the market. If you don't want to pay $23 a month for Netflix, you could pay $14 for Peacock or $10 for Apple TV+ and still never see the end of interesting content. On the other hand, I do think piracy puts pressure on legitimate service providers to provide affordable, no-nonsense alternatives to piracy, so even as someone who would rather not pirate myself, I think its existence helps keep *some* of the excesses of the legitimate alternatives at bay.

reminds me of my greatest beef w nintendo, that being their animosity toward emulating. it might make sense if they maintained access to their older titles but they dont so why they choose to punish some of their biggest fans is both morally bankrupt and a stupid business move.

If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't theft.
@mike_dizАй бұрын
I hate that phrase. Piracy is just not theft regardless of the first half of the sentence. Theft reduces the supply, piracy does not. It's that simple. Piracy is about copyright violations by the definition.

@@mike_dizso it's still kinda correct? Oh I get it now, thanks
@mike_dizАй бұрын
@@DanielTroman technically, but not really. "if A then B" is redundant if B is always correct and makes the wrong impression. This looks like B is ONLY true when A is true. While in actuality, it's "B is true, if A then B". So "if A then" is harmful if anything. "Piracy isn't theft." That's it.

I live in country where’s dollar is very expensive. I just can’t afford all of these subscriptions, it’s expensive as hell. Any time when adblock and yt talk comes I hate when people say “oh just pay for premium”. I can’t imagine paying for crunchyroll (especially when I found a pirate site that much better), spotify and something else in the same time. I hate that, I hate subscriptions based payment. Let me please buy something ONE TIME PURCHASE FOR GOD SAKE. Everything now is subscriptions based, just… agghhh The only subscriptions that I love is when I support my fav creators. P.S wdym this is the only comment. I thought this is a channel with at least 10k. Good luck in growing!
@marinmarinholaАй бұрын
Also sucks they only give regional pricing to some countries. My country doesn't get regional pricing but dollars are also very expensive, so I used an Argentina vpn to pay for premium because it was manageable with their prices. Now I got an email saying I need an Argentina card, so I'm screwed now. They don't let me use other prices but also don't offer good prices for us. Lose lose

I never stopped collecting, and I haven't had a movie/TV streaming service for over a year. Before that I rarely had more than one at a time, and often only for 1-2 months to catch up on things. I never liked the way Netflix and other services present content, and I always had issues figuring out what to watch, but that isn't the case when it comes to looking through my collection and finding something. And of course, the quality is better on disc in general. Something that I became very aware of because I have a pretty decent surround setup. I also don't really care if new stuff never makes it disc, even though it seems that companies are slowly going that way again. There are new distributors popping up every year, releasing old and sometimes forgotten movies, and even TV shows from time to time. Sure, I might miss the hot new show, but I will always have plenty of entertainment.

I mainly got Amazon prime for online purchases for stuff i can't get in malls that aren't around anymore . Id rather own a DVD . The best example are some of the John Carpenter DVDs with Kurt Russell . Most of the DVDs have commentaries of John Carpenter and Kurt Russell . You can even hear them opening beer cans and lighting cigarettes

It’s good to see some streaming service exclusive titles be available on physical media. Selections like WandaVision, The Mandolorian, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, Loki, most of the Pokémon Netflix shows and movies, the Animaniacs reboot, and many more are available right now and tbh it’s pretty great. I do have Disney plus and Netflix, but that isn’t gonna stop me from getting the shows and movies on dvd/Blu-ray. I don’t have HBO Max/Max, Peacock, or Crunchyroll; so seeing some titles be available from their catalog like Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dune, the Five Nights At Freddy’s movie, Dragon Ball and One Piece available on dvd and Blu-ray is still great.
