Hello Alex: Do you think it is feasible to use grain alcohol or vodka to extract flavor from the grounds of spent coffee pods (similar to the way vanilla flavor is extracted from beans)?

For those asking previously, 30 grams of a combination of spent grounds from light, medium, and dark roast were collected. 200 ml of IPA was used and distilled over the grounds at 175 C for four hours. IPA was separated and recovered (probably by distillation) and fatty acid profile was analyzed by titration.

Hello, Would you mind to share how to convert rain intensity in [mm/hour] to [mm/minute]?
@saraism45573 жыл бұрын
Divide the result on 60 and you will get the intensity in mm/minute

Plants free of water deficit events more efficiently absorb available plant nutrients enabling plants to achieve their maximum genetic potential. SWRT membranes installed below plant root systems retain water where it falls, providing continuous delivery of drought-free periods up to 3 times longer than intensely irrigated control sands without root zone water retention membranes (Guber et al, 2016).

Agriculture wastes far too much water and uses far too much oil to ship food to those who will consume it! We know that we don't need soil to grow food and we know we can use 90% less water, so why aren't we doing it in all those vacant shopping centers? They are ideal for growing food and look at the traffic it would bring if people could pay the farmers and not the oil companies! Food would be 90% cheaper, if grown within a few miles of where is it consumed by the people!

@morganreeder1095 жыл бұрын
If it were economically feasible, there would be a lot of people doing it. In my never to be humble opinion, you can grow plants without soil, but they are of inferior quality and nutritional value. They are also very expensive.

Looks like you did rule #1 wrong. Should be 36 GPM, based on not exceeding 10% of min static pressure available in city water main. I use meter table as well. 1" meter, 10% of static is 8.5. Go down 1" meter column until I hit 7.8. Next number is 8.7 but exceeds 10% of static psi. From 7.8, go left to gpm column and answer is 36gpm
