Hello Mudeth, I wanted to ask if maybe I could use this track (and potentially Machine in The Walls) for a Roguelike me and a few other people are making. The game will be 100% free to play to avoid profiting off of anyone’s work (since we’re also using prior works from another composer, DM Dokuro). Alongside being added to the game’s credits, the player will see a bit of text at the bottom right of their screen indicating which song is being played, alongside its respective composer (a lot like the Jukebox mod for The Binding of Isaac, which this project is greatly inspired by). I’ve played Antibirth before and absolutely love the OST, plus it had a lot of really good items/sprites; a lot of which I only recently discovered were Antibirth exclusive. Use cases: Flashpoint will be used in one of Unnamed Dungeon Crawler’s final Dungeons/chapters. I will make the combat layers myself if necessary. The Dungeon itself will take place in a collapsing city following a nuclear attack. Machine in The Walls, if we do end up using it, will be used in one of the games sub-Dungeons, which have a chance to replace part of a given Dungeon. The area in question will be a large library with a focus on magic-based enemies and items.

I love continuous repeating varying high pitched arpeggios like this in songs. It creates this ethereal quality to the music. They often use this for underwater or ice/snow levels, the most well-known example being probably the underwater theme in the 1st Donkey Kong Country. The piano gives it a sorrowful/nostalgic feel. The guitar then brings the mood up, making the song feel hella cool 😎 The piano then takes back over, doing some darkly beautiful melancholic melody, keeping the listener invested. Later the strings have their turn to shine for a short bit, giving some poignant notes, before giving it back to the hella cool guitar. 😎 It generally gives unsafe/uncertain vibes, like you're a little baby that could die at any time... But you'll have fun fighting and facing adversity. It reminds me a lot of Maridia theme in Super Metroid, in terms of mainly just vibes. All in all a really wicked tune. Loving it. 💙
