How does one find the exact mid point between two planes to be able to create something at that plane/point without having to measure or remember the dimensions of everything you've designed and just halving the value? Fusion 360 you'd just create a construction plane and select the two planes you want a mid point between and it would create a usable plane in that place. I can't find anything like that in this software and it's super frustrating.

This would be perfect if you were also able to record/show your keystrokes so I know what hotkeys you are using!

Hello there! thanks for this amazing demo, just a quick question on what you are doing at 3:26 precisely. It seems that you are somehow adding a loop edge starting from a face selection, ive looked everywhere and tried everything i could think of but cant find the tool for that, would you mind telling us what you did here exactly? Cheers

Hi, first of all nice timelapse and skill. Quick question: After exporting it to Blender, did you UV unwrapped it or just asigned id colors and then straight to Substance? Thanks. Keep up the good work!
@sendokkz

Yap, I just assign the id colors in blender and then add the mat in Substance. Hope that helps! Thank you for your comment!

Hiya, what is the keyboard command / action that you do to split a face at 1:09 to 1:11 please? The commands available when you do it are Tab - U/V direction, Shift+Wheel+up add cut and Shift+Wheel+down Subtract cut.

Amazing! Did you render it out in Cycles or Octane? Is it possible to make a short tut about the lighting and the materials. The result is really awesome!

Hi, thank you! The render was done in Cycles, the lighting (HDRI) and the materials are from a paid pack so basically just slapping things until I'm happy with the results.

After I made a not so complex shape and wanted to export to as an OBJ, even after experimenting with the exporting parameters, the resulting topology was pretty bad, if I am not able to get a good export topology then most of my need for the program is gone, because I will have to spend lots of times cleaning or even retopologizing, what do you think?
@sendokkz
@sendokkz Жыл бұрын
Really sorry for this late reply. So basically you're correct, you will need a ton of time or maybe a specific workflow for this (I'm assuming you will go for game asset) but in my case, I just going for a cool looking render. So for the topology I don't care if it's a disaster as long as the shading is perfect (which is always). Perhaps sometime in the future there will be a feature / addons / workflow to tackle this issue for people that work for game asset as this software really cater for hard surface 3D artist.
@velstorios9473
@velstorios9473 Жыл бұрын
@@sendokkz I was actually going for a render, I wanted to get it into blender to UV unwrap and do some nice texturing, but there were two issues, the minor issue is the topology not being great for unwrapping, the major issue is that the topology was not able to give the same look as in plasticity and even giving some clear artifacts, specially on lofts and some bevels I did spend good time on the export parameters as well.

It looks insanely dense, if you want to put this into a game you need to basically "retopo" the model and then use the original to bake
@Knightbreaker107
@Knightbreaker107 Жыл бұрын
@@TheGooGaming When exporting, there is a handy density slider. It's not perfect; but I've been experimenting with different complex objects straight from plasticity to substance painter, and it seems promising.

so what plasticity is bringing to the table is making this kind of thing easy and produce super high quality surfaces. yes the other apps can do but way harder to get good results and you will find yourself fighting bad polygons and complex interfaces to make it possible to do all this. plasticity is bringing simplicity back to 3d modeling. really should be called simplicity...and in this world thats damn hard to achieve. its real competitor might be hyper cursor by machine tools

Very nice modeling and video, two minor things if you really want to blowup: · Drop the 60fps. People with low spec PCs/phones cannot watch it bacause it buffers and wont even play right. _(You want the maximum amount of people to watch your videos and now you are limiting it without knowing it.)_ · Is this your real voice tone? Sounds like you are lowering it and its pretty weird/tryhard. _(My apologies if this is not the case.)_ Anyways, you got a new sub 🤘

I find this fascinating. But I'm a bit old school, and personally, I get more out of a modeling video if the modeler talks about their train of thought during or post recording. But I guess that would be time-consuming, and I might be in the minority of enjoying that. Great video!
