Removing the old Alias simply means you won't be able to receive emails to that address or sign into Microsoft with it anymore. This can be useful if your old address has been getting an bunch of spam due to a data breach or similar. You don't have to remove the old address though if you don't want to. You can simply change which is the primary alias and leave the old one there.

It can't really be deleted with a single click since you need to go through multiple pages to get there and verify your identity along the way. But if you happen to delete it, it isn't the end of the world as you can just add it back again. Microsoft does not reuse aliases and so no one else can "take" the Alias from you.

Unfortunately, unless you have a secondary authentication method besides your phone number, there isn't much you can do. You could try placing your SIM in another handset if your phone is having issues, but it's hard to troubleshoot much more than that without me having access to your devices etc.

I have tested it out and can confirm that the free Gmail user would be able to see and use the Document Tabs.

Unfortunately, there is no way to merge two Microsoft Accounts together. This is why I specifically mention not to create a new account with the address you wish to use.

I have seen this happen on occasion. Usually it happens if the file is saved to a cloud location like OneDrive or Google Drive though. If you have your file currently stored in a cloud location, move it to a local folder before continuing with the process. If you don't have the file sitting in a cloud location and you still have the same issue, I would suggest starting fresh with a new copy of the file. I've seen some people mention that just creating a different copy and doing it again fixes the issue for them.

Gemini advanced is a paid product, however, you can try it out with a trial, and I believe Google is giving away a 60-day free trial (but you may want to check that in case it has changed). Or if you purchased a Pixel 9 Pro Series device, you would be entitled to a year of Gemini advanced for free as part of the purchase of that device.

If you want to have the Phone Link app pinned to your Task Bar, just open the app and then right click on its icon on your Task Bar. There will be an option to pin it from there.

The file should automatically sync whenever it is opened again. Is there a goal you are trying to achieve that needs the updating to occur without the file being opened? If so, I might be able to help you find a solution.

Unfortunately, I have not found a way to enable 4K on my devices, but that may simply be because it isn't an option yet. There is a possibility that it comes as part of an update. But to be fair, if you are using this as a webcam, you won't be sending a signal that high resolution anyway... which might explain why it isn't an option.

Yes, it is currently true that the co-creator features a not available in all regions. But this does not rely on a co-pilot plus PC. This feature is available on any hardware. For example, this video was made before co-pilot plus PCS were even a thing.

I'm a very big fan of making technology as accessible to the widest possible audience as we can, and so I can completely understand the frustration that you must be feeling at this point in time having just purchased a brand new, high end computer and being unable to use some of the marquee features that Microsoft is advertising. Unfortunately, I can't speak to the legal restrictions that are preventing Microsoft from rolling out some of these AI based features to certain areas of the world such as Europe. It's not something I have any experience with. And whilst they may mention these features as part of the Copilot+ PC feature set, which they technically are, having an NPU in your device, which you now have in a Copilot+ PC, does mean that a lot of these AI based features will be able to be run locally on the device and use up substantially less battery power in doing so compared to "standard" PCs. That is going to be a big win for you moving forward. There are also other features that are exclusive to devices with an NPU that you will be able to take advantage of already. And then when Microsoft is able to resolve the legal issues that are preventing it from rolling out these other features more globally, having an NPU in your device is going to make your experience substantially better. So I generally would recommend someone look at a Copilot+ PC if they have the capacity and budget in order to do so.

When you say "the old name won't disappear", what exactly do you mean? Can you provide me with a little more detail (but obviously please don't share personally identifiable information if possible). Hopefully then I can help. If you have set a new alias as your Primary one, it can take a couple of days potentially before the new Primary alias is being shown across your device. If you didn't set the new one as Primary, than the address you see when logged in to devices such as Windows will not change. This is because devices like Windows, Xbox etc will only display the Primary address.

I didn't get rid of the old one to be sure, then I checked and saw my new alias appearing, but the old name to the old alias was still there. The name that you're seeing for your account will be the same as what it was currently for the old Alias. And that's because you haven't changed anything else about the account except for the Alias that you're used to sign into it. If you want to change the name that is associated with your Microsoft account, you need to do that in the your info page and then edit your account name. account.microsoft.com/profile

Microsoft introduced the Copilot Copyright Commitment last year, which offers protections for customers using Copilot-generated outputs. However, this commitment primarily addresses code and text generated by tools like GitHub Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot, without specific mention of AI-generated images. I can completely understand that. And it's a great way to manage your document as well using the headings feature. And for a manuscript that does make a lot of sense. The way I've been noticing a lot of my work colleagues utilising the document tabs feature though is for handling projects where normally multiple docs would be created for different aspects of the project and instead now they have it all located inside one Master document. This means that only one document needs to be shared out to all the team members as opposed to potentially four or five or more.

Then you will need to use the recovery options in order to find out what the email address used is. There's no way to change the address of an account when you can't log in to the account itself. That would be a major security flaw if you could.

I've taken a bit of a look around and they have not yet (as of December 9th) added a keyboard shortcut for this feature to Edge. It seems to currently be limited to the right click menu for now. I would suggest sending this feedback directly to the Edge team using the option found at the bottom of the ellipsis menu (...) in the top right corner of your Edge browser. Hopefully they can look to add it in to improve this feature.

You don't need to do that. There's an ability inside Windows to remove the Microsoft account from the user profile and convert it over to a local account. Once you've converted the account over to a local account, you can then simply connect your Microsoft account to the user profile, and then you'll be using your account to sign in instead of hers. The best part here is that there's no changes that happen to your user profile or any other programs you have installed. Everything will stay exactly the same, except that you'll then be signing into Windows with your Microsoft account. Unfortunately, there currently is no way to do this (as of December 9th) on Outlook for iPhone (or Android).

If you are using the text styles such as "Heading 1" etc, you should be able to modify the style and have that apply across the Doc.

If focus cell is unavailable, your panes may be frozen. Focus cell won't work with frozen panes. Unfreeze your pane and it should be available to you.

Currently this is a tough thing to perform inside of Google Docs directly, but you can do this from Drive instead. In Google Docs, selecting Print will simply print out the tab you currently have active. In Google Drive, use the ellipsis (...) menu next to your Document and select Preview. This will open the Preview view and you will see that the doc shows all tabs of the document with divider pages between Tabs. You can then select to Print from here and select the page number sections for the tabs you wish to Print.

You're right, MacOS has a lot of quirks that can be difficult for users who are used to Windows or other operating systems. But I have no doubt that people going the other way probably feel the same... 😉 But this software choice of macOS is definitely once of the most odd ones.

The accounts that you've created at other services such as Amazon and Sony etc will not change. So if you have signed up using your original Microsoft account email address, I would not recommend removing it from your account just yet. You can still create a new address and set that as the primary one for your Microsoft account, but as long as you don't remove the old address you will still be able to receive emails with it. If you then want to update your accounts at Amazon and Sony etc. to use your new address instead, you can do that, but I would not recommend removing the old address first in your case, as it could potentially prevent you from being able to recover those other accounts if you forget your details for them.

This was filmed about a week after the feature began rolling out. They have already added in more options and I expect Figma will only add more with time.

That shouldn't be an issue related to the change of your primary alias as it isn't changing anything about your account itself. I would suggest restarting your computer as this can sometimes force it to refresh your Microsoft Account details when you sign in again. This usually resolved itself within 48 hours in my experience. If you are continuing to have issues with the Microsoft Store after this, let me know as there is some other troubleshooting you can do to fix the store.

I hear you on that. That would be a great feature, but unfortunately it isn't there at the moment. I know that Gmail does this in the web client (my current workplace uses Workspace) and this feature has saved me from missing emails many times. I'd love for Outlook to pinch it.
