Hi Bronte! I just wanted to say hello! I binge watched your videos for the past days, and I am really enjoying them. So thank you for sharing! I will be in London in May for the Miso Pop up Event. If you are there too, and maybe interested to say hello, that would be fun :) I sadly missed the NYC Stationary fest, so I am over the moon happy, to have another opportunity for a similar event this year.

I have a question about fountainpens for beginers. I would love to get one that writes smooth and very fine. I would love to know what you would recommend for a beginer that is not very expensive. Also I love to paint in my pages so a black ink that works well with said fountainpen that is waterproof. Any fountainpen experts with a lot of experience that know exactly what type of pen and ink would work well for this? Side note, I use hobonichi planners so an ink that works well with their paper. Any recomendations?

So lovely! I must try splitting up my Cousin pages, for a bit of variety; it looks so good. The word you were thinking of is 'sheen' - so fountain pen inks can have Shimmer (sparkly/pearly particles), or can exhibit Sheen (when the ink has rich 'halo' in another colour), or Shading (when they take on an almost watercolour-like shading in the writing - my fave). Thanks for sharing Bronte!
@bronteswannick4 күн бұрын
Thank you so much, it’s definitely a good way to ‘mix up’ your pages! Ahh yes SHEEN I could not think haha! I love inks that do that 😊 thank you for watching!

I'm curious to know if you've written with your Tom's Studio pen yet? I am thinking of buying one, but the ink bleeding on the Tomoe River Paper is deterring me. I wonder how that pen has been in your Cousin, if you have used it.
@bronteswannick4 күн бұрын
I have but I think I chose totally the wrong colour of ink for it, it’s very light on the TRP so I want to get more of the little cartridges for it and put a different ink in it! I didn’t find the Tom’ Studio ink bled in my 2024 book but obviously 2025 is a different thing 😬 I guess because you can use what ever ink you’d like with the pen, if you have an ink you know doesn’t bleed through then that should be fine 😊

Talking of big birthdays makes me smile 😊 I can’t remember what I thought about being 30 😫 haha! When I was 70 I thought…… shit! 70! 😮 So, just enjoy being 30…. 🎉🎉🎉 It’s a great age to be!

So when you are doing this journal, is it for you to reflect back on or maybe for others to look at later? What made you want to put the things in it that you did?
@bronteswannick10 күн бұрын
It’s for myself, kind of a collection of things I am interested in keeping for the future. It’s difficult to say exactly why I’ve added the things I have, it’s kind of a mix of things that really resonate with me (like the quotes) and things I think are interesting (the articles) or just things I want to remember (the knitting notes) 😊

@bronteswannick11 күн бұрын
Oh exciting, I hope you enjoy it 😊 I did not know there was a KAL, but I am familiar with the pattern! I knitted a few of that designers patterns maybe 5 years ago, but I realised they just don’t fit me 😅 the armholes are always sooo low on me and I find that so impractical! i totally understand the niche ness of fish inspired knitting patterns! i want to make the halibut sweater as my next project but ive never done color work before Ive also just recently finally got a copy of her journals and the bell jar and im so excited to read those as well also i was curious is there a reason you don’t use any fountain pens in your commonplace?
@bronteswannick11 күн бұрын
Ahh I think that would be a good first project because it’s only two colours total! Hope you enjoy the journals 😊 and there’s no specific reason I don’t use fountain pen, the paper is perfect for it, but I think I just prefer how the paper gets ultra crinkly with a ballpoint pen 😊

I'm not sure if these exist in the UK, but in latin america, we have these bible shops, or Christian paraphernalia shops. Some of them sell bible covers made specifically for different bible sizes. I actually get my planner covers at one of these shops in downtown Rio for pretty cheap, and they have pretty much every size you can think of. So, that’s a tip if something like this exists in other countries and you don’t mind shopping at stores with religious affiliations.
