Can someone convince me on this: what if another nation backed by some other imperial power in future makes a claim on the territory based on their sacred text, saying that their deity gave it to them. So, they do to them what was committed by them before. Would this second occupation be legit? You occupied someone's land, killed and slatured people, and you were able to do so because the world's leading powers were on your side. So an organized and successful occupation doesn't justify it. The fighters for their occupied lands do not become terrorists because you are good builders.
