Have the same issue. Alerts everywhere and won't complete a waypoint mission that I had planned with my Air 3.I have the latest firmware, which did seem to help a little, but still no joy. I even refreshed the firmware using DJI Assistant 2 as was suggested by support. At this point I wish I would not have upgraded from the 3 to 3S. The sensor upgrades don't work properly and the improvements in the camera alone aren't worth the money.

Did a RTH on my Air 3S today on a large round glass top table i have out back. Seats six people, big area to land in the same place it took of from. Each time i tried, it did not want to land. Finally figured it out. That hole in the middle where the sun parasol goes. Smart drone 👍

Hello, I had the same problem, it's a little freaked out because I told myself that the drone already has a problem however I am used to DJI (phantom 4, air2s and now the air3s) this morning I did the last update and no more problems. I think it was caused by default software. Do not hesitate to update the drone and not the flyplan.

I’ve been flying around that wood since 2015 and it was doing it when I was 300 feet up in the air. It was fixed with the firmware that came out a couple days ago.

@@BrianKushner That could be the reason as the optimal mode adds a lot of 'smarts' to try and optimise the return path in terms of both altitude and the return path in an attempt to conserve battery in case it is low. It's a new feature that came out with the AIR 3 and probably still has some bugs. I'll bet the stadard RTH woks just fine.

DJI definitely needs to test each device more and fix those “near water” issues: it seems most drones get confused by water. Also the AI under the hood is buggy, I hope it gets better.

You can’t judge on one event Dji will see what happens Dji 3 has the same soft ware update and no issues
