The best StS mod I've used so far was the one that did the math on the damage numbers on enemies. 27×3? It shows 81 in paranthesis! Such a huge convenience.

I'm having a difficult time getting past A17. It feels like I'm bashing my head against a wall for no reason. Every single run I play, I never make it past Act 2. I don't get why the game's difficulty ramps up so much between A16 and A17. I think I need to find something else to play/do to take my mind off this self-imposed challenge of getting to A20 by StS 2.

Probably a good idea, tonnes of great games to play and spire will always be there when you feel like coming back to it. When that time comes though, I'll repeat (although not verbatim) what Baalor has said in the past. A16-20 ARE quite frankly unfair. And he was several thousand hours in iirc before his preference changed from usually playing at A15. I think one of his past suggestions was that if you're able to fairly consistently get back to back A15 Heart wins, and want a more brutal challenge, then it might be time to increase ascension level. But no matter what. There's no point in playing a game if it's not fun. If it's stopped being fun, definitely a good time to try some of the other awesome games out there. Hope you have fun ❤

yeah I feel you. just be patient, eventually you get a good enough high roll seed to brute force it. this game is so unfair, you tend to forget when watching Baalor because he is so damn good at it.

If you're playing with Silent on A17, she has the hardest time getting through Act 1. Lagavulin and especially gremlin knob are BRUTAL against the Silent's low initial damage output and reliance on skills

It would be interesting if the new blue character and the new purple character were new "forms" of the Defect and the Watcher, respectively. We saw the broken body of the Defect in the trailer, but what if the consciousness was transferred to a new body? What if the Watcher blasphemed so hard that she really did die next turn, and now she's a skeleton? It would also be interesting if we encountered both the Defect and the Watcher in the form of bosses. We have automaton bosses in Spire 1, so maybe the Spire was able to regain control of the Defect in the 1000 year interim; and perhaps the Watcher becomes corrupted by the Spire in a similar way to her former cohort, Time Eater. Whatever they do, I'm excited to see it.

why does everyone complain about defect not being in spire 2? if you want the original characters, play the original game. I want new characters and experiences and spire 2 is going to rule

Because ironclad and silent are in sts 2 and defect is considered by many the most fun character from sts

I personally agree with the decision to keep it limited to IC and Silent in terms of returning characters, since they seem to be the main two characters thematically. Defect would add so much dev time to something that already exists in STS1 when they're trying to make something new and fresh. Maybe Necrobinder or the other character will have a focus on powers like defect or will take from defect in some form, but I also wouldn't be upset if they were wildly different. That said I do hope they add defect in the future, since it's such a cool concept and I'm not the biggest fan of gameplay mods.

Imo Defect is by far the most fun and complex character which in my eyes is peak STS and seeing him not in STS2 is sad but i don't mind it as much. People will mod the game anyways and the players who want him in STS 2 will get him eventually.

So from the Silent run I learned Grand Finale is definitely harder to use if you have Ink Bottle. Fun run! I love it when I get all the potion goodies (Alchemize/White Beast Statue, Sacred Bark, Potion Belt).
