Sadly my dear friend Rick ended his life a few years ago! He was such a nice man. I miss him! Sad ending of a Vietnam legend

Fascinating stories from my friend and fellow Marine Colonel Landon Thorne. Thank you for providing a platform for these kind of stories to be told. Semper Fidelis.

Even the marines are weak now. We will not win anymore wars anytime soon, but at least we will not lose many Americans in the wars.

Another great trip in the way-back machine. IDK if Lt Thorne was ever in my backseat (as all my logs were lost), but he is a great example of all those who did (except a few who didn't bring a barf bag LOL!

I’ve had the privilege to be associated with the”fish” since we arrived at Webb AFB in 1970. We were in the same class with Delta and spent the same time with the LANG. His adventures in SEA and the LANG are true without fabrication. Other than being occasionally scared but too busy to acknowledge we are both so grateful to have survived the experience. So glad he took the time to share his experience, proud to call him a fellow warrior and friend.

Excellent account that should be more widely known. Some reference dates would be useful to put the state of the war and political climate in the US at that time in context.

This is Dohrman's proud brother and, believe me, he could easily spin out another 3 hours of great stories. But, he is too modest and I would like to add for the record that he was awarded a Silver Star and other awards for his brave service in Vietnam.

Hi, this is Dohrm. I find my memory was faulty. I mis remembered my T41 instructors name, it was Jerry Drennan, a great instructor. Also, I went to Survival School right after pilot training, then got married to my wife Susan, and off to USAF Bird Dog training. No time off, had to move up the wedding. Our honeymoon was the drive to more USAF training. I served in Vietnam in 1969-1970. I hope you enjoy the video.

Wondering where you got this video from and is there anyway to get a copy? My father is portrayed by Martin Sheen in this movie and I would love to have a permanent copy. Oddly enough, my former brother-in-law met up with Admiral Chambers at a Veterans Ceremony today (11 Nov 24). He's 95 and doing amazing! Kindest regards, Susan

What is the name of this show? Surprisingly, a search for "The Day Of: The Fall of Saigon" (as shown at 1:55) turned up nothing and I'm not seeing what it could be on the IMDb pages for either Martin Sheen or Ossie Davis...

If you pause at 0:18 you'll see there is absolutely no crosswind technique applied. That was all it took sadly.
