SM 1019 turbine Bird Dog stall crash at take off. Our thoughts are with the pilots family

That was Dale “Snort” Snodgrass. The best F-14 pilot there was. I had the pleasure of serving under him in VF-33 NAS Oceana. I was an Aviation Electrician and our shop troubleshooter. Many times I final checked his aircraft before launch onboard the USS America. So sad to see this.

So sad. I used to fly as a passenger in those alot, towing gliders in the 80's. Feel so bad for the family.

Well this is not a Bird Dog, there were only 4 of these planes built. So, no, doubtful.
