Didn’t notice you changing the crush washer on the drain bolt, should really do this to stop leakage.

Can you please recommend which tools (sockets/ wrenches/ breaker bars etc) you need to do this service? Also, what's the best way to tighten the sump nut?
@RetroBoy946 жыл бұрын
Good service however it s advised to smear the oil filter O ring with fresh oil, and not used oil as this could contaminate the new oil.

This was great, and nice to listen to a fellow engineer lead me through this! (I'm 95% sure that you are from way you phrase things!). I know this was a little while ago now but are you still looking to collaborate on a valve adjustment? I have an SRAD 600 in pieces at the moment and was frankly too intimidated to have even checked the clearances so far! I'm more than willing to provide the bike, some tools and a pair of hands, maybe even use of a camera (!) if you are after another shot at getting the adjustment detail on film. Cheers, Tom

which bolt do you exactly unscrew to get the oil out?
@rijuk458 жыл бұрын
Hello Dima. Sorry the video did not cover this clearly. If you look under the bike you will see a bolt ( the sump plug) located between the exhaust down pipes. It is easy to find and is very obvious as the lower fairing has a tool access clearance designed into it. Hope this helps. :)

+Domingo Chacon Hello Dom. Thats a shame! Well try and sort it out. First thing Id like to know is what comes on and what doesnt when you turn the key to ignition and your kill switch (Red switch on your throttle side handle gear) is in the On position. 1) Does the fuel pump prime (you know the sound that your hear before you press the starter switch)? 2) If the fuel pump primes then do you hear any sounds - starter motor etc. 3) Fuel pump and starter works but the bike wont start 4) Do your headlights come on? Dom, check the above and let me know here. We will go from there. Take care and good luck.

hey i did a oil change on my srad the oil light is red and wont start any ideas need help baf
@rijuk458 жыл бұрын
Hello Brandon. Good thing the weather was crap so you didn't miss out. Does the priming come on? When you press the stater switch are there any sounds? Also a bit daft but try operating your kill switch a few times and see if you hear the priming intermittently. I have never had this issue. Let's sort it out together.
@brandonhurley13878 жыл бұрын
+Rij B. yes it has prime noise ...when u hit the start button it does nothing and the oil lamp thing flashes

+Brandon Hurley really weird to me i touched nothing oil level good and thank for reply i hope we can figure it out
@rijuk458 жыл бұрын
+Brandon Hurley Hello Brandon.I would say check the clutch switch. It s weird indeed as it was running before the oil change. I don't think it is a mechanical issue. else you'd have heard sounds upon depressing the start switch. I'll have a look at the cct diagram in the meanwhile. Good luck

was that orange air filter that was in there the stock one that comes with the car?
@rijuk458 жыл бұрын
+Lorna Williams Hello Lorna! Apologies for the delay. Considering the age of the car and the fact that filter was not filthy enough (12 years old!), I doubt it was the OEM installed filter. The car has a good service history. You can always purchase OEM recommended (here Nissan) service parts for your vehicle. Hope this answers your question. Thank you. :)
