Back in the 2000s this was just trendy. GTA SA Ps2 version had it. Other franchise games like NFS Most wanted also had the yellow filter Even LCS looks a bit yellow Maybe it had something to do with their screens at the time

I think it was the 2000s trend of making things look more lively and active or... "realistic" without actually having to improve graphics. Definitely weird now but back then it made things more colorful and alive

In '84, the year VCS is based on, Tommy Vercetti (the "other guy" who is the protagonist of the original VC) was still in Liberty City serving his 15-year sentence for the Hardwood massacre. Now, as for them getting together, it does happen at the beginning of the original Vice City and what's more, Victor is killed in that same shootout.

A difference is that foliage in VC is so much more alive. Swaying back n forth constantly. VCS feels stationary,

GTA VC is better cause there are more accessible buildings and it added so much despite being 4 years older than VCDS, love Vic but VC's Tommy is great who rose from his mafia betrayal to taking revenge and owning his own businesses and gangs and mansion and motor biking, full sized maps, buying properties and side missions like the stadium races were introduced, GTA Vice City is the better game IMO and 2002 it was revolutionary.

For some reason, even 20 years later, I still get confused by the layout of Staunton Island, I always seem to think I'm going North when I'm really going South. Love the LCS map changes

Man I'm so glad to read that because it's exactly the same for me. I've played countless hours of GTA LCS and at least 150 of GTA 3 and I can't memorise it at all. Bear in mind that I know vice city better than my hometown and can drive anywhere in San Andreas from memory. Something about liberty city, it keeps it fresh and it's amazing.

I love the vibe of GTA 4’s liberty city. It feels so much more alive than even Los Santos.
