Minor spoilers They cut the travel Elinalise and Rudy had through the Begaritt continent, which added a lot of cool world building and a bit of better relationship between the two characters. But at the end of the day it’s not relevant to the end game of the novel(Read all 26 novels).You can argue it gives minor character details nothing groundbreaking, but at the same time do we need them to explain the different monsters and their abilities? Do we need to know about the way of life the for warriors of the desert(warriors of the villages). It’s interesting stuff and gives a clearer picture but they have to condense it down a lot and make sure the characters are developed, plot is moving along, and meet deadlines. Only time I was disappointed with the anime was the Eris POV on why she left and how she felt in s1 isn’t there. Maybe she gets an ova or an episode in the future.

I really wish the Anime didn't skip so much content from volume 11. Chapters 9 to chapter 14 were either skimmed or cut entirely.

My theory is it’s in Danganronpa V3 but like years after it and my theory is, it is a video game/TV show that was very popular back then but after V3 pretty much people got bored of the series. And I think it was funded by the detective organization, to pretty much get new recruits into being a detectives. And the detectives you mentioned before , would be Dead DRP 1-3 but since they’re not I believe it was a very popular series which helped the detective organizations for entertainment mostly. And the mass detectives are based off of, ultimate students in DRP 1-3 or influenced by the series.

My theory is that Danganronpa 1-3 is pretty much a video game/TV show/anime series and V3 is the 53rd TV show/game pretty much the pink blood that you see in the series indicates that the entire series is fake in their world. Rain Code could be in the same world as V3 and all the characters from the series, the actors and voice actors might be the parents or relatives of the detectives(Yuma might be son of Makoto Naegi & Kyoko Kirigiri(the actors)) (Halara might be related to Chiaki and Haijime as their daughter/child)

They seem to adopt 6 volumes per season in both season 1 and 2. The only way for season 3 to be done as best as possible is for them, the anime studio and director, to only adopt 5 volumes for season 3 vol 13 to 17. If they have the same 25 episodes format like season 2, then they can adopt many more content from the LN in the anime (although not every aspect). they shouldn't adopt volume 18 with season 3, only stop it at volume 17 cause as an LN reader, you know that volume 18 is mostly slice of life. It'll be weird to end a season with that volume. However, volume 17 has both the payoff and plot twists of a finale.

Another thing about the scales. If I remember the books right, they don't just work, you (the user) need to pour some mana into them to generate a mana nullification affect. So, it's not as simple as creating armor from it and passing it around town, of course Rudeus has some experience later with that sort of concept anyways. But, like many things Rudeus does, others would find the idea insane because they have to conserve mana, which as far as I recall, Rudeus only worries about in 2 battles in his entire life. I enjoy your head-canon on manifestation, being what little we get on actual explanations for monsters and labyrinths and their formation via mana, it would make sense for mana to be able to conform to the will of legend and myth.

Light novel reader here. I’m not loving season 2 adaptation at all.

I guess the perfect MT game would be something which was teased in the novels, but no games like that really exist yet. So basically an Orsted or Mangod game. Might contain spoilers soon. I think I've never seen a game about time loops. Majoras Mask is close, but in the end you receive more than knowledge. And it's only 3 days, not 200 years. And everything you do could have an impact on everything going forward. In the end it probably boils down to a huge decision tree, which has been predefined, and as the player you just have to find the right path. Even more interesting might be a game where you can look into the future of three persons at a time, and then try to influence them. You could tell them the truth, you could lie to them, and you can see how the future changes when you do something. Probably requires to precompute huge decision trees for hundreds of characters. Maybe parts could be automatically generated, so it's replayable. Or there is some kind of randomness (Orsted), which you can't see. But whenever you win the game, this random parameter changes based on the decisions duning the previous loop.

What are we doing in this game.... Lack of a villain fits absolutely fine with a VN.... JRPG? Not so much much turn based, party based combat where the boss fight IS the game practically, needing to level up each character strategically, learn the correct skills and balance mp/ap between characters and skills/attacks in combat. Granted, I understand the way these games work I will be upfront in that I find them incredibly un-fun. There are pics showing the Zant Port Adventurers Guild. Meaning, you can go at least to Zant port, interesting because Rudeus didn't stop there, he was busy finishing the job with the smugglers and getting stripped naked by cat and dog people, I will assume this is like many Anime that receive a VN: Cheapo turn based combat encounters, a basic retelling of the story, and perhaps as they advertise, visual tellings of stories skipped/skimmed in the anime though I think they mean "new" as in non-canon scenarios of What-If. I second a previous commenter, advertising method is a redflag. We don't see any beast children rescue in ads, no Paul, Orsted....? Nope, just a bunch of very generic looking turn based combat shots. Where are the dramatic storypoints to show off, is there no interesting heart-pounding moments in the NOVEL part of our Visual Novel-esque portions of the game? I don't think there are any, and if you read a portion of the games description on Steam: "Sylphiette, Ghislaine and Geese, who did not rejoin in the original anime, can now team up in the game!" I can see that Geese and 10 year old Slyphie might make a great team, but it doesn't make sense and makes me think it's not planning to flush out the anime world with more lore from our original content. That description also suggests that maybe "we" don't go to the Great forest at all, just have the available character to join our party.(Wrote this part before you came back with the Steam page info.Keeping it in for comedic affect.) Honestly, I expect this game to feature very cheap combat, linear progression and absolutely no interesting new lore, on top of that, see "no ads with dramatic moments" also piss poor Visual Novel characteristics to accompany uninteresting combat. It's a cash grab, which if it keeps sales and interest going long enough for a season 3, and hopefully a 4...5....... 6.... Then I'm all for it. But, honestly game wise, it's about as interesting to me as any other merch, only reason to buy it is to possess it, not because it actually enriches the story. Not exciting to me honestly. Might get proven wrong though, Angel Beats! got a VN, and I was younger, not interested in anime or visual novels at the time, so no clue what it looked like from the outside POV during it's announce/launch. The draw of the game for me would be Dead End's adventures during the 10 months between Rikarisu and Wind Port, as well as Roxy's search for Rudeus. Will see whether that part will go until they reach Krasma and meet Kishirika.

I assume it's just a dungeon crawler of their journey through the demon continent while adding other characters to your party even if they don't fit the timeline/story... The fact that their marketing is vague is a red flag.

More then half a book was skipped in one episode. About... maybe 25 pages of a 200+ page book was included. entirely skipped explanation of the way of life of Begaritt and it's outlook on polygamy and lack of exclusive marriage, comes into play very soon after. The true serious dangers of Succubi. And most and INCREDIBLY important.... Rudeus first real and serious outlook on him causing death... His failure to utilize lifeending magic to save the life of an ally. And accepting that even skipping the major king/god/emperor tier magic, he HAD ended peoples life anyways, by building walls close to riders running at full speed inside his field of mist, many of them died. It tore him up and it was absolutely IMHO an unskippable story, the journey with the mercs was not acceptable to skip. The next like 5 books are all partially or more than partially surrounding Rudeus' journey that leads him to accept killing for himself, his family and his missions for his superior, I'll leave unnamed for spoilers sake. I was disappointed with the episode. It was a good episode, if I had not ever read the LN. Everything anime wise was OK, but just too much INFORMATION critical to not only character development but also world building. The LN journey of the Begaritt continent really kind of humanized the people of the entire world in a way. Anyways, side note for you: So great to see someone desperately lay out my own exact opinions to me lol. good video, I'll have to keep an eye on the rest of your content.

i started reading the ln after watching turning point 3 (i thought the season was over idk) and this episode def did skip through a ton of content but i dont think any of it is terrible to miss. most of what we lost is world building which is sad but volume 12 was a banger so im sure they are just saving the budget and screentime for that. also sidenote now i want to reread the ln from the start cuz there is clearly a ton of cut content that we are missing out on (although to the anime's credit rudeus is a much less detestable person in the anime as compared to the ln).

For me, it felt like the magic school arc was dragging on for too long. They finally get to the action part and it does feel like it is going too fast. In one episode, they go from the school to the Begaritt continent and are going to meet up with the rest of the party in the next episode.

I think season 2 cour 1 looked worse than cour 2 personally. The volume 7 content was the lowest point of the adaptation in my opinion. It's still a good adaptation over all, but as a fellow LN reader I feel your pain.

I watched your video, and came to one conclusion. You are looking at it through the lens of a person who read the light novel and wanted a retelling of the light novel in anime form. That is not going to happen. These are two different media, something will not translate. Plus there is restrictions on how many resources they have and the episode count. I cannot think of anything they skipped in the episode that is important to the overall plot. Yes, there are elements that they skipped, but that would require resources/episode time that they would have had to pull from somewhere else.. They have a set number of minutes they have to fit things in, if you notice, each episode focuses around a story, that they mostly finish up by the end of the episode and will sometimes lean into the next episode. They cannot spend more episodes spending time on something that is not important to the overall story, when they have such an episode limit. Yes, I wanted to see something also, but in the end, I think it was a necessary cut. I think you are being overly hard on the director, he has a difficult job to do, and he will have to cut things that you will not like. If you want to criticize the anime focus on what they did wrong with the episode, not on what they didn't put in. Unless of course you feel that there was something that is very important to the overall story.

While I am enjoying season 2, it's a lot better than most anime out there, I do agree that they skipped way to much in this episode. They should have extended the season by at least one episode in order to cover that missing content.

We got the same demonic continent. Traveling with counter arrow was shown almost entirely, but no one liked it. So let them cut out the unimportant for the plot, just as long as the labyrinth arch is adapted normally

I actually feel the opposite part 2 is better than part 1 and there was no way the bandits and the caravan wasn't getting skipped if they wanted to adapt vol 12. I'll withhold my ultimate judgement till the cour is complete cause the best parts aren't adapted yet.
