The backstory was Reed said if he could get a good start he’d beat Stewart. He didn’t get a good start so Stewart slowed down to let him pass to test Reeds theory. Reed was wrong

I tell you what I’m 15, I never watched a 2 stroke race live but I can tell you right now they need to bring back 2 smokes, bring back the baggy jerseys, bring back the 2000s. I know I never experienced all that but it’s so much fuckin cooler than what we got now

Why do you put a photo of the winner as video thumbnail?! So annoying. The whole point is to go back and watch these races not knowing who won.

I was there, in fact spent the entire race at the top of the uphill after the start. I remember Broc after the race leaning his bike against a motorhome where they did post race inspection, the tank on his bike was metal, probably titanium, I thought it was so trick. Thanks for the upload mate.

at 13:46 , the way he shifted his weight...I did a similar thing by instinct once when I was taking my motorcycle road test in 2010 at the DMV. (on a 1972 Kawasaki triple- the guy giving me the test already thought I was nuts) When it came time for the obstacle avoidance test, I had to get to 30 mph, pass the line on the ground and then avoid the cone. That bike was not the best handling, and I had a motocross background so I shifted my whole self off the seat one way and then the other and pushed that old thing around the cone. The tester looked at me like what the hell!, but I passed. Always thankful I rode mx a long time before getting on the road. skills come in handy, the cross discipline thing like what comes thru in this race..what a great concept the superbikers was!!!!

Also I think it was in 1985 Wide world of Sports when he won the supermoto . That pass where he was on the rightt side of the guy in front of him just long enough so the leader could hear him then darted to the left just before the leader looked back to his right. Then the leader quickly looked to his left just in time to see Magoo beside him and making the pass. As I watched that live. I told .y dad that Magoo knew that the leader would do that and that was part of the setup for the pass. He wasn't only a amazing talent. But mentally strong and in people's head. He would scrub jumps at times. Or like that one person said. Noise wheelie. He Noise wheelie because he would not want to catch big air in that sections. But no one picked up on his insane intelligence and madness to most but normal to him riding style. He was a diamond that's forsure. One of the sad things is he was going to receive a new van. Brad Lackey and fox got a fundraiser for it and he died like day or two before they gave it to him. He was loved by so many!!!! God speed "Magoo"

I remember this day!!! That was good clean battling all day!!! With Magoo on top. To me Danny "Magoo" Chandler. Was the first freestyle, freestyles. Those bikes had power , heavy and no were even close to the suspension as bikes 23 years ago Let alone today's.

ill never forget Magoo in the CMC winterseries on a Maico, madera ca, total mud run, no goggles, won by a mile, diagonal thru the giant whoops !!! RIP Danny

Yeah that was really something on that day forsure. Then that time he raced with his left handlebar bent down were the grip is. So he would hold on to the crossbar and still be on the gas!!!!!!
