I was going add in a better video in of the wheels later but once I rounded 2 Lugs on 2 different wheels spacers, I lost all motivation to video more.. When I was putting those spacers on a year back, I had that little voice saying don't do it, Don't do it.. So now again I am finding out the hard way! And why I am really pissed at myself is because I know better and still did it.. Sometimes it better to leave certain shyt alone..

Worst Mistake I've made with this car so far! Putting this crap on my car! Now it's at a shop because the spacer lugs are rounded and won't come off!!! Please hear me!! Leave the aftermarket crap alone all it does is cost you more money in the end!! Now I am without my car for a week and I have to pay a shop hundreds to get these spacers off my car!!!!!!!

When I first got my 2011 S197 Mustang GT, with the Getrag MT-82… - UPR stainless steel clutch line (with extra heat-resistant wrap) - Steeda remote/separate clutch fluid/master cylinder reservoir - Barton short shifter (and mount) - Steeda clutch pedal assist spring - transmission shifter bushing upgrade - transmission mount bushing insert upgrade - Blowfish shifter support bracket - Ford 8.8” rear axle diff vent tube upgrade kit As far as the MTF that I use, I definitely stick to BG Synchroshift II when I can. I’ve been on a budget lately, but I switched to Redline DCTF temporarily, and it feels even better than the Motul DCTF and Valvoline DCTF that I tried. The OEM Ford DCTF actually isn’t too far off from either of the aforementioned dual clutch trans fluids, but I also haven’t added any trans fluid additive that the older S197 manual transmissions used to call for, from the factory. I believe Motorcraft had a manual trans additive for the MT-82, and then BG also came out with their own MTF additive as well. I believe the factory fill that I got my car with, originally had it; but the owner ended up just cheaping out and temporarily flushing the trans with some Triax GL-4 75w-80 (same spec BG Synchroshift II is, except more standard MTF weight/viscosity). At least the Triax MTF the prior owner used was full synthetic. If you drive hard, Valvoline and Pennzoil Synchromesh MTF are okay, but I would most definitely change them with every other engine oil change, as they’re conventional oil-based and tend to shear down and not last too long…. I plan on a Tremec TR-6060 swap from an 07-10 Shelby GT500. Either that, or unless I can source a Tremec T56 Magnum (or Magnum XL) for an affordable price.

When I really sat down and thought hard about it.. I was really only lockout like maybe 5 times total in 15 months of having the car. And it hasn't happened at all since I've done the SVE clutch line amd syncro shift 2.. I'm not saying that it can't happen if your going to far into the Red.. But since I've done the OP Syncro Shift 2, and the SVE clutch line, I've been nailing the shifts right at Redline.. Look I don't recommend trying to Rev these cars out to far all the time until you do pump gears anyway.. It's pointless to try and go for that 7500 rpm shift without the 18 and up intake at the very least anyways. Or a Cobra Jet Intake. The 11 to 17 intake manifold's fall on their faces at 6800 rpm anyway.. But as far as the shifts they feel way better and smoother now..

How much did it cost to have those lines installed?

I did my rear as well at 10k. It was dark and had gunk on the magnetic plug at the bottom. I’m thinking it was from the original break in on the ring gear.
@marcasswellbmd692227 күн бұрын
You are always going to have a little something on that magnet plug, but as long as it's not a lot and super cakes on, it's normal.. If it's a thin layer of a paste and not small metal shards you should be good..
@marcasswellbmd6922Ай бұрын
I'll tell you guys straight .. I have been nailing my 7000rpm to 7100 rpm shifts since the clutch line has been in along with the syncro 2, it shifts way better now.. I haven't been trying to take it to 7200 or 7300 anymore but it's nailing the redline shifts now and that's all I can expect from this trans.. Plus with the 15-17 intake manifolds the HP falls off a cliff at 7000 anyway.. That's why a lot of guys will put an 18 intake in and do E85 and thats like another 70/80 wheel with a tune.. The 18 manifold will get you more rpm too. But I honestly believe its better to save and little by little some stuff while saving up for a Whipple. Next on my list are Steeda Springs and Wheels/tires..

Can’t wait to do the 07-11 (?) GT500 TR-6060 swap into the 11-14 (I have a 2011) S197 GT. I had a super low mileage 2011 GT, with barely 20k miles when I got the car; but by far, it was much, much sloppier to drive when compared to the Tremec TR-6060 I have in my 5th gen 2010 Chevy Camaro SS (LS3). I also drove a 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 with a TR-6060, that also felt much better. Aside from the solid rear axle design prior to the 2016+ Mustang GT getting the independent rear suspension re-design, I absolutely had to have ALL of the preventative mods on my S197 manual GT, to be able to even comfortably drive it hard. The Tremec TR-6060 also isn’t all sunshine and daisies either, but it’s a lot, lot more sturdier; and the mounting and engineering of them in cars like the Camaro V8’s and Challenger V8’s, absolutely make them drive the way that they are. If you ever get a chance to drive a mid 2000’s Chevy or Pontiac with a Borg Warner T56, those are also slightly better than the MT-82 to a degree as well (in my opinion, anyways).
@marcasswellbmd6922Ай бұрын
Most Mustang Coyote guys all ready know this, but for those who don't the Gen 1's and Gen 2's come factory with a Hard 7000 RPM redline on the gauges.. And the 18's and up got a hard 7500 Red line on the dash.. But once you do the oil pump gears and a good tune they can all rev out to 7700/8000rpm which sounds and feels soo great. With only Upgraded Oil pump gears, They can all pretty much Rev out to 7700 to 8000 on a stock motor and that's one of the main reasons why people love the Coyote platform so much..

((Just a heads up I've had the BG syncro shift 2 in the trans for 2 months now and it has totally changed the feel of the trans.. It feels soo smooth now, I almost can't believe how well it worked..)) The dumpy clunky feel is gone, n I haven't been lockout since either but I'm not claiming it's the full fix.. The 10 speeds are great up to about 750/800 wheel and very fast with stock power that would probably be the best bet for you.. For me having to do a clutch or eventually a built trans to keep the manual isn't a big deal to me.. I grew up with manuals and prefer them. That's just me.. Don't be scared away from the MT82, you just have to make sure you are getting one that is healthy and then take care of it. Do a Braided clutch line and a good clutch later on down the road and the MT82 is fine, you will be fine..

@marcasswellbmd69223 ай бұрын
My car has been shifting fine so far but I have very low miles like 14K n from what I understand and know about them I wouldn't get a manual unless it's very low miles like under 20K.. For every10K after you are running the risk of getting a beat up MT82.. Also look to buy from people above 50 years old.. They tend to garage their cars mostly and weekend them.. You don't want someone's daily n the best overall trans for these cars is the 6R80... But if the MT82 is healthy, Syncro 2 and and a good single disk clutch will fix the lock out.. I'd do the braided clutch line too... Some people get lucky and other's don't.. But never buy a manual with over 50K and 3 owner's in my opinion.. Not without having money ready to go for a re-built trans or at least a better clutch.. Oh and the syncro shift does feel very smooth.. Haven't had lock out but give me another month to really see.. But look sometimes all you need is a decent clutch.. I'd say get a 10 speed but some of them are even beat up by 60K miles. Do your homework..
@marcasswellbmd69222 ай бұрын
So it's been over a Month since I've done the Syncro shift II and it's been way smoother.. The trick is waiting till the trans is fully warmed up and I have gone through the gears a few times before Rev'ing out the gears.. It slips into 3rd butter smooth now but like I said once the trans is fully warmed up. Just cause the motor says it's warmed up doesn't mean the trans is. Right now it's cold where I live so I have to cycle through the gears a few times and wait for it to be fully warmed up, but after that it's smooth so far.. And honestly don't be afraid to get the manuals, if something does go wrong weather a 10 speed or an MT82 the MT82 will usually be cheaper to work on and fix.. And trust me the 10 speed guys have their issues too..

Hey brother. I have a 2019 Bullitt and figured out this problem. Despite what anyone says, it is due to rev-hang. You can't quick shift these cars . You have to let the RMP drop before shifting. Trust me. Don't waste your money on mods or other BS.
@agrives36333 ай бұрын
It isn't the clutch. That's what I thought. Sure the clutch would fix a symptom of the problem by adding slip but the real issue is that the emissions control doesn't allow the RPMs to drop. I learned this the hard way with some nasty hard shifts and lock outs before I researched the real reason behind it. Emissions control is what holds you back on this and it isn't with just mustangs. The new z has the same problems with lockout and harsh shifts. Test what I am saying and you will see what I am talking about. Watch the tach and see how slow the RPMs drop. I was pissed off at first after buying my Bullitt and felt your same frustrations.
