Very minor question but, the thumbnail has a yellow accent, and the in person footage of the skates being held is more of an orange, is that a custom colour? perhaps a camera filters? or is it the actual colour of the skates (asking because I have ordered some today and want to buy waxed laces that match the accent) cheers for any info

It depends how much you skate and if you're looking for top end technology. The MACH's are great skates, but if you're looking to stay within a certain budget and don't need all top end technology, the M5 Pro is also a great option.

I have the Bauer Re-Akt 65 and when I installed the prep shield top clips, I can't even lift up the face shield unless I really loosen up the two screws. Is that normal?

former major junior player who skated in Vapor 1x (2015 top vapor skate). Don't really want to pay top dollar, how would I find these in comparison to those? Know these aren't top of the line but just wondering how the tech are in these comparing the skates.

These skates would definitely be a step down. They won't be as stiff; materials aren't as good, but it depends how much you skate. If you don't skate too often anymore, these wouldn't be a bad option, but if you're skating once or more per week you will want a skate that doesn't break down as easily. The X5 Pro would be more comparable to the 1X skate.

The technology in this skate compared to the 1X pro would be similar. Both include CURV composite in the boot, comfort padding, and injected facing. Upgrades the X5 Pro would have is the Fly-X runner and the PowerFly holder.

I have the 2017 X700's. Pretty good skate. However, its a a 1/2 size too big in my opinion. I play in a beer league, once a week now. I tried a half size smaller in the X4's and the fit feels better. Is it your opinion to get the X4's, or stick with the X700's?

If the half size too big doesn't bother you, you could stick with those but it's always better to have skates that fit to avoid blisters or being uncomfortable.

The shaft technology in the Pro is improved with STP Carbon fiber and Nanolite Carbon Layering. The blade also includes STP carbon fiber giving it more strength.

I’m just a tier 4-5 player, my RBK 7.5 wide skates finally died after years of service. What type of skate should I be looking for nowadays. I don’t want to buy a skate that’s made for an elite skater and is too much skate for me and my low skill level.

The Tacks XF80 or XF90 would be good options if you are looking for a CCM skate. Those are both mid-price point skates. Unfortunately, we only have a wide fit in the XF90. There will be some differences as this is a 3rd price point skate. The biggest difference will be the stiffness of the boot. MX3 will be slightly stiffer, but overall, this is a great option if you skate often and want to stay within a certain price point.

For someone who has no hockey store to go I find this video quite useless, i mean you say the big lines but not where to look, which categories of skates are for what kind of feet, where to get them, you don't talk about the blades nor the sharpening,... If you are close to a store, we would recommend coming in so we can scan your foot to see what fit would be best. If you have skates already and they are EE width you would likely be a fit 3. Otherwise, there isn't a great way to measure that at home.

The biggest difference is the CURV Composite quarter package found on the M40. This is a better material that provides better support and thermoforming capabilities. Bauer also included the LS Pulse SS runners, which is an update from the LS+ on the M4.

I am a recreational skater (skating 1 to 2 times a week during season), just started my second season on them and have noticed significant cracking on tendon guards. It's a real shame because otherwise, price tag aside, I can't fault them. Looking on the web, this seems to be a common issue. I upgraded from x3.7 Vapors which did not have this problem.

Upgraded from Vapor X800’s, to Shadows. I play 2-3 times a week and the odd tourney or two in the spring. These skates are a game changer, I’ve never had a pair of skates feel like these skates do. My confidence on my skates has increased so much, I trust these skates to give me strength when I’m using the edges hard on turns. They are the most comfortable skate I’ve ever worn and they just feel so good. Worth every dollar I’ve spent on them.

You should redo the video. If you look at the helmet and cage the J-Clips are not engaged which means any force will break your jaw before the clips showing an unsafe fit.

In the Supreme skates the lower part of the skate is stiffer to optimize energy transfer, and the upper part of the skate is softer allowing for increased mobility. Vapor skates focus on quickness with the lower part of the skate being softer for increased response and the upper part of the skate being stiffer allowing for more lateral support. It may come down to your preference in how they feel on your feet. If you are close to a Pure Hockey store, you can get your feet scanned and try on the Supreme and Vapor to see what is best for you!

These helmets have the same shell, so they do look the same. The difference is the inside with some of the foams and padding.

I’m looking for a new stick for the new season. Is this the best option or should I get something else I have used many sticks so it wouldn’t matter how this stick acted but it might not be the best option, Just wondering and as you mentioned in the video you get a more powerful shot because of twitch taper is this a reason I should get this over others and is the strength greatly increased?

The Twitch stick has a slightly higher kick point than their traditional low kick Vapor sticks, so with more of a hybrid, you're getting quickness and power. Bauer also used Boron in the back of the stick, which increases the strength. This stick has some great reviews so far, but it may depend on your personal preference of feel.

The Twitch has a new taper and the kick-point is slightly lower than the Tracer. It depends if you're looking for a mid-kick or lower kick stick. Both are great options!

Height really isn't a factor in fit. If you have Vapor skates and they fit well, sticking with a Vapor would probably be best!
