Thanks, pure hockey service did let me get another pair. Hopefully this boot wont have issues too.

I’m just a tier 4-5 player, my RBK 7.5 wide skates finally died after years of service. What type of skate should I be looking for nowadays. I don’t want to buy a skate that’s made for an elite skater and is too much skate for me and my low skill level.

The Tacks XF80 or XF90 would be good options if you are looking for a CCM skate. Those are both mid-price point skates. Unfortunately, we only have a wide fit in the XF90. Here is the link for senior wide skates in CCM - www.purehockey.com/c/ccm-hockey-skates?div_main_desc=Senior&sort=salepricedesc&width=Wide. If you're looking at Bauer, the M40 or the X4 skates would be a good mid-price point skate - www.purehockey.com/c/bauer-hockey-skates?div_main_desc=Senior&sort=salepricedesc&width=EE%2cFIT3&model_name=X4%2cM40. Please reach out to customerservice@purehockey.com if you have any other questions!

My experience with the pro is that the shell is brittle. Maybe the xf is not brittle. My xf pros shattered in the heel down to the carbon. Most expensive skates I’ve bought, least durable I’ve ever owned. Maybe they would be good figure skates but not made for contact hockey.

Sorry to hear they cracked. If you purchased them within 90 days, they may be under warranty. Please reach out to customerservice@purehockey.com or call us at 866-787-3462. Thanks!

Lol, i don’t care what you hockey players say “i don’t care about looks” gonna shop for the as-v series after seeing the xf series. 😬 Looks kinda matters. Xf pros is just a american ft6 pro with a stiffness bumped up to a rating of 215. 🤭 Dear; Trevor.. i don’t like the new direction. Keep your two families appearances different.

The Tacks XF Pro and JetSpeed FT6 Pro do have a similar look but the construction does differ. The XF Pro uses FORS Composite in the boot for better impact durability and an improved weight to stiffness ratio compared to the Carbon Composite in the FT6 Pro. The XF Pro also has more internal volume in the midsole with a more snug fit in the heel and ankle. There is a wider tendon guard on the XF Pro that is slightly stiffer than the FT6 Pro. They do have the same tongue, but they went away from the removeable tongue in the XF Pro.

Good explanation, only thing i couldn’t quite understand is that marketing jargon of Fors Composite. But that explanation made sense, it sounds like a significant leap. That gave me a few questions. So, does that means the xf pros are lighter while maintaining it’s predecessors’ stiffness level? Also, would you guys happen to know the weight on xf pros in grams? How does the as-v pro compare to the xf pros? I’ve been looking for a review on the latter but atm, there isn’t any.
