I started investigating a similar (taxstampless) concept and found out non-NFA "firearms" fall into a strange crack where, it's nearly impossible to legally carry (concealed on person or in-vehicle), in most States. Kinda took the wind out of my sails on the whole concept.

I still have my Rock River 9mm. I bought one right after the end off the Assault Weapon Ban was over. I recall being surprised by the amount of recoil compared to my 5.56. I have since tamed recoil a bit by adding the Maxim 9mm silent captured buffer. It's now a backup for my B&T. The 10.5" barrel and irons is a bit outdated. My B&T is much smaller and more modular. That being said, I'd still take one over an MP5. I can't get behind the very slow and outdated reloads.

I like that you're doing experiments like this and on the Rossi. Its fun to see the possibilities and maybe even driving innovations. I enjoy your presentation too. Instead of standing and talking, then shooting, you're doing a voiceover while you shoot. Its efficient. When you were talking about your goals with the experiment, i was thinking mini shells would work. Then you addressed that. I appreciated that you lead us down a line of thought, then addressed the question you were leading us to. If you were trying to make the most compact PDW shotgun, and laws weren't an issue, what would it be? Im thinking it would have the shockwave style grip, a magazine for maybe ten minishells, a bolt action type so you don't need a gas tube and don't have to pump it. It would be a thicc boi, but short. Add a side flipping stock. Another option could be a takedown style barrel. It could theoretically fire without it, but would greatly improve its effectiveness when installed. Its just a thought experiment. Definitely don't do anything illegal. Im enjoying your channel. Edit to add: I considered some sort of large caliber rifle caliber pistol with shotgun ammo, but if this is for a "zombie apocalypse" scenario, then you'd want some common style of ammo and 12 ga is ubiquitous.
@phaideauxbrown15227 сағат бұрын
Not a terrible idea overall, the legal issues you mentioned non-withstanding. Kinda wish someone would make a keltec su-16 style underfolder for a shotgun I think that'd work better than the quick-stock while still being a standard grip shape so the tang safety is easy to get to.

Damn thats cool, i did the last mod with the shockwave grip about 2 weeks ago or so, really like the thing lol. Havent killed a deer with it but did kill a deer with 45 colt about a week ago, dropped on the spot. Do you think youd ever make the forends for sale? Id love to have one. And as far as the compartment, id put a small ferro rod, a small rod knife sharpener, mabey a small amout of wire for 1 or 2 snares, then some small fish hooks, a couple weights and a few feet of fishing line. Think all of that would fit, mabey even one or two storm matches. Im real big into makin kits like that 😂.

If one of these gun companies truly wants to make a decent survival rifle, they need to give us a combo in 7.62x39 over 410 All of the combo rifles that currently exist have too much shotgun and not enough rifle (not including the bloody expensive European combos)
@septemberforajedi77013 күн бұрын
Okay I was thinking about getting one just for the fun of it But now I see some potential I've been thinking about getting a survival gun for some time. I wonder if it's capable of using shotgun adapters giving it the ability to use more types of ammunition could be something useful in a shit hitting the fan scenario.

I've had one for a while, before they offered pistol models. I SBRD mine, serial number is below 500. I also use mine with an F R T. But a slight mod is required to work with F R T. A very safe and easy mod. Also these from factory are absurdly under sprung. Throw a 308 sprinco orange spring in it and use a heavy 9mm buffer with those items mine runs great unsuppressed and suppressed . if *not your beating the gun to death. If you suppress it the violent recoil gets worse and parts will break. great platform with slight tuning. I three lugged mine and I got a B&T three lug flash hider for it when im not using my obsidian 9. I use a Rugged Brand Three lug 1/2/x28 and it works great with the B&T brand FH. other three lugs have slightly different geometry. But i know these two work well. hkparts.net/flash-hiders-muzzle-brakes/b-t-hk-mp5-mp5k-quick-detach-muzzle-brake-3-lug/#tab-reviews www.primaryarms.com/sprinco-ar10-orange-extra-power-carbine-buffer-spring www.primaryarms.com/expo-arms-h3-ar15-carbine-buffer-od-green

Thanks for the video. Well done. I just returned home from my LGS--went looking for a Wilson Combat SFT9 and came home with the S&W432 UC. they had both the .38 and the .32 models. My EDC is the ruger LCR in .32 H&R, but my wife has wanted it for a while now, so thought I would replace it with the UC and give the Ruger to her. I'm anxious to put some rounds through it so I can feel confident as my new EDC.

Nice to see Defender Tactical getting a mention. I have a home defense shotgun with a 7+1 capacity. I recently used it at a shotgun match and was able to remain competitive with other participants who were using 20+ inch semi autos, as far as stage time goes. The reason was due to using mini shells. My capacity was increased to 11+1, so less reloading meant my time was closer to those using competition oriented shotguns.

It would be fun if they made single shot pistols like this for regular pistol loads. Sure you can get a Contender or Encore but I dont want to spend a thousand bucks on something they can make for 200 (as seen here).

ok come on i keep hearing over and over how this thing patterns shot shells bad because of the rifling in the barrel. what a bunch of nonsense the dang thing patterns bad because its only 9 inches including the chamber' do you actually think 6 inches of refilling designed for a .45 cal projectile is putting a spin on a 41 cal plastic sabot filled with lead shot. come on guys there's only 6 in. of refilling at a twist rate of 1 in 24 in. heck it doesn't do that good at spinning the tight fitting .45 projectile. but just to prove to me i was correct. I took some hs pics firing several different shot shells and even on the 3 inch which had a giant wad to follow there was zero i Siad zero evidences of spin .
