Does anyone set theirs up rain fly first? ie Can it be done?
@user-wp6op3mi5z9 ай бұрын
Hi. Thanks for the review :) I have a couple of questions, please. 1. I'm considering this tent for a year backpacking in South America, where I'll be doing some multi-day hikes/treks in Patagonia and in the Andes. Do you think it would be up to the task? 2. Does light brownish mesh allow you to see the stars clearly when stargazing at night-time?

I’ve never owned a tent or set up a tent before, but I just bought this tent. You saved me so much time and frustration by showing how to get it set up. Thanks so much!

Best reviewer of the Marmot Tungsten 2P UL I’ve seen. We just bought one and will be using it this May 2023 for the first time. We wish it had a footprint though.

Hi mate. Greeting from England. I know this is a few years old but do you have any experience putting the fly and footprint first THEN the inner. Needless to say me living UK its always raining so this would be the logical way for me to set up every time. I wouldn't like to tempt the rain gods doing it this way haha Thanks again for the vid

I have a goal zero portable solar panel, this fan is awesome, thank you for adding it! I have the Marmot Limelight for 2P, best tent ever, approaching 8 years and never ever had issues with water, not even on top of the footprint or wind and I 've been in some horrendous storms. I'm near 60 now and can set it up in minutes, same as this tent in set-up. I am getting to old to crawl in and out...or, it is getting old, ha! I won't upgrade, because this tent is so fabulous. I am trying to figure out how to use the vestibule for a small raised screen. Any ideas? You are great!

This Hubba Hubba tent is terrible. I just bought one, unless you use this without a rain fly in absolutely perfect dry conditions it doesn't work. It leaks like crazy. The design is terrible. Yes its easy to set up which is great. But thats it. The rain fly sticks to the mesh, even in clear conditions the condensation leaks all over you. Light shower you are in for a bad night. Don't get it!!!

If been using the lanshan 2 and I don’t like that it’s harder to set up, takes hiking poles and the doors are hard to get to close close to the ground but it is a very good tent, that aside and very light weight it’s just after 15 miles and at just before dark in the rain the last thing you want is a finicky tent and it ended my day early because I don’t want to get caught at dark having to set it up. This tent looks perfect it checks all the box’s for me except for weight but it’s worth that penalty in my opinion. I have the Hyke and Byke Zion 2P Whitch is very similar to this tent just it’s too heavy for a backpacker tent, this is perfect I love it and I need it. Great review thank you

Really good video, gave me an excellent idea of what this tent will actually be like to use. thx! One tip though, use your shoe to push those stakes all the way into the ground, that way won't stub your toe or trip when moving around camp. Also, the stakes will hold much stronger if they're all the way in.

Hi Richard...came here to see THE MSR tent being pitched up....walked away with value in terms of the tip to hang your pegbag on your belt loop...such a small yet significant lifehack ....you got me sub'd right there....hate chasing after the tent peg bag on wet ground. Your way is a much more civilised way of doing things! Will never forget this as long as I live. Thanks for posting!!!!! Off to buy a belt loop/clip....lol!

My Hubba Hubba NX lasted five or six hours in Scotland. Then it was trash. Couldn’t handle the wind, pole snapped and shredded my fly sheet, wasn’t a great night all in all.
@PedroFerreira-ze5yp3 жыл бұрын
I'll have to say I had a similar experience, and I was just checking out the comments to see if someone had a similar problem. I also own the Hubba Hubba NX, bought it at REI, in Washington DC. Poles are extremely fragile and snapped, and then ripped through the cover! Luckily I have a repairing kit with aluminum tubes to use over the broken pole. I live in Brazil and I can't get a replacement pole here. I do like the design and system of the tent. However, the lightweight materials come at the cost of being too fragile, and this disappointed me a lot! Especially for the price paid. Although I like the tent, I'm not sure I would recommend it or buy it again. I think carrying a few more grams might be worth it for some extra peace of mind regarding the durability of the materials. Big flaw from MSR, I'm sad to say, but I have to say it about an otherwise greatly designed tent.

I've got the Olive coloured one. Your video convinced me to get this tent. I was looking at a much cheaper Lansham tent but the freestanding aspect and quality got me convinced. Thanks, liked your presentation style.
