a few weeks after the repair, I got the same code again. I did some research and came across a grounding issue that is pretty common on these. there's a bulk ground connection behind the passenger headlight, down on the fender apron, where the terminals tend to break away from the wires. I made multiple ring terminals instead of one big connector, and didn't have any more issues. good luck on it, and let me know how it comes out!

hi ana! I bought mine from an auction, and it has a slvaged title, as it was in an accident and the insurance wrote it off and cut the owner a check. I won the auction for $1250 and with fees, it was $1925. I currently have about $2500 into it, and it has around 148k minles on it now. keep the transmission serviced every couple years and it should last you a good while. mine had what I assume, to have slid in snow, into a ditch or over a curb, and had snapped the driver's side strut in half, and bent the door outwards at the top. do you remember in the listing what kind of damage it was supposed to have? if it said mechanical, it could be alot of things... just because it says "drive" in the description, doesn't mean the transmission is good, it only means it moved a couple inches under it's own power. let me know what you find on yours, and if you make a video on it, send me a link! @@Ana-gf6zn

I have these same codes on my 2010 Compass. Even after swapping a new runner control module, the same issue persists. On takeoff, it has a "hiccup" at 2k rpm before "jolting" forward. Ive changed the 02 sensor, cleaned the TB, swapped in new spark plugs, removed and cleaned the intake manifold thinking those flaps were sticking. After all that, the CVT transmission had to get rebuilt. And still the same issue...I'm at a loss of what's next now...maybe a faulty PCM?

I did have to go back a couple weeks afterward, after the code came back, and did a little research, and found these are prone to have electrical ground issues. If you go to the passenger side, right behind the headlight, you'll see a group of wires bolted to tterminalhe frame. check tose, and you'll probably find a broken connection to the terminal. I haven't had the code issue come back up, but still seems a little "lethargic". hope this helps

I did this job yesterday. Don't know how anyone could do it just by removing the glove box, the way most videos say to do it. You'd have to be a squirrel monkey. Save yourself a LOT of angst and remove the passenger airbag like this guy says. There's at least one video on KZbin that shows how to remove the airbag, and it's really simple. Even after doing that, the upper actuator is a fairly difficult job. One problem is being sure the new actuator stays in the slotted vent arm while positioning the module correctly. It took me several attempts to do that while also fitting the X-shaped opening in the module onto the molded mounting protrusion. Also, I wasn't able to start the upper screw during reassembly. A younger family member with skinny arms and hands had to do it, working through the airbag cavity. For anyone confused about the different actuator names, the driver side actuator behind the instrument cluster is the Main Panel-Floor actuator. The upper module on the passenger side (the bad one in this video) is the Main Defrost actuator. The lower module on the passenger side is the Temperature Blend actuator, and the horizontal module all the way on the right is the Air Inlet actuator. In my 2008 V6 base, the part number stamped on the original 2007-date Defrost actuator was 6R33-19E616-BA. The new MotorCraft part is 6R3Z19E616-B. The package also says YH-1870. This is the same module that's used on the driver side. I bought mine today from a Ford dealer because of all the bad reviews on aftermarket units. Cost was about $40. It's installed now, and the clicking is gone. I opened up the old module, and two teeth were broken off one of the gears. One last thing, don't rely on the direction of the clicking sound to determine if it's on the left or right side of the cabin. I got fooled by that and pulled the instrument cluster at first. Just swivel the glove box down (don't bother to unbolt it yet), then have someone else operate the ignition key and controls (to make it click) while you reach up from underneath. You can feel the clicking in the defective module. If you don't feel it in any of the three on the right, it's on the left. Once you think you've identified the bad module, then pull the plug on it to confirm the clicking stops. I got estimates for this work ranging from about $300 to $1,100. The reason for this large difference is that some shops go by the book, which says to pull the dash. I don't know if they really do that, or if they just use the book as an excuse to charge more. Honest shops who have done this job know it isn't necessary, and they charge accordingly. Thanks for the video!

thanks for the positive feedback and extra info. like you said, don't follow the noise as it can be misleading, I'd found that out a couple years earlier with one of the other actuators, and dismantled the the center console/radio/ac controls just to find that it wasn't necessary.

Hey Turnkey; thank you for this test of the HF air welder, and and showing your learning how to use it on camera...... a lot of us want to see that so we may can avoid some newbie mistakes. Polyvance has some really good instructionals on how to use these things. I've been looking at getting one, as what I have used is the Polyvance airless (like a REALLY heavy duty soldering iron). It came with tips that work in most cases, but I ended up fabricating my own welding tips for unusual places, like getting into close quarters in car dash boards. One trick I used, when I couldn't find a rod that was the right kind of plastic and wouldn't stick, was to go to a pick-a-part yard and find a car like mine, and break off some plastic out of it from the areas I was trying to weld on mine, and cut my own welding rods from that. That way the rods were almost always the same color, and compatible/same plastic.

as a newbie to it myself, I appreciate the good words. I got a bit fustrated by the few videos I found, that basically catered to the people with experience with it, and figured, why not help people learn while I learn as well? @@archiemegel5807 I'm going thru this now pump works, new shocks, all fuses and relays are good and the rear level sensor works but for some reason it will not pump up (power is at the deflate wire constant which is the red wire, the green wire has no power which is for inflate), going to replace the lines (ak29) since even when I hotwire the pump to lift it up, it drops within minutes. I'm going to put a switch for up and down (three way momentary switch) in the trunk in order to keep the factory pump. I also replaced the exhaust solenoid on pump (still drops in minutes hopefully the new lines will stop the deflation). This way I will keep factory pump and shocks. Just stuck at figuring out why it's dropping after pump up. I also am disconnecting the rear level sensor. Kinda wondering if the front level sensors are the reason the back will not inflate. At any rate I'm not cutting any factory wires to the pump as I took the wire and connectors off a junk car to wire in a switch with the pump wire plug & I can always try to fix the factory setup the right way later. Update leak was not in the line greatfuly since the ak29 needed to be spliced into factory lines at the pump. The leak was the o ring where the pump connects to solenoid so far no leak and I will continue using factory pump and shocks with a switch for now..

usually the stability program will cut the fuel system down at speed over 90 mph, and kick back on around 88mph. like mine, someone's probably replaced the struts with standard style ones (originals are hard to find, and expensive when you can). there are resistor sets you can get for fairly cheap to plug into the harnesses to trick the computer into thinking that the struts are original and giving a signal. kind of like these: www.ebay.com/itm/Electronic-Strut-Bypass-Kit-Buick-GMC-Cadillac-Chevrolet-Ford-2000-2012/264017225082 this is the one I actually bought, I've just misplaced it. he also has a full set available for the entire car. let me know how it goes for you! and thanks for watching!

Most of the videos I saw on these, were of people that knew how to use them, and just quickly showed projects they were working on, and really didn't show alot of "how-to" content.
