Many years ago, someone wrote to Dr Phil and asked "Why are you always walking so fast after the show? Your wife is always half running after you in high heels" Many years ago as newlywed someone asked my now ex-husband the same question. I knew then that he finds her irritating. Remember, she is the one who proposed 😢

In a time when our country so desperately, needs, unity The women on The View prefer to be the propagators of so much slander, and divisiveness, and defamation of character. It reflects on the producers owners, and station’s poor taste. Trash Talk has become theirs standard. None of them should be surprised if Melania sues them for even more. Kirk, spock,and McCoy were the show's stars. The other cast members need to accept their limited roles and what they were hired to do on the show and basically just get over it.

As much as I love the show & Kirk etc. They arent wrong. Im sure they were all sold a bill of goods about equality & then got shafted. The show could have done so much better. Think "Lost" but in space. Every cast member we fell in love with. Shatner was the leader by default & it was his job to fix that.

He might have had a big ego and stepped on Gene Roddenberry’s toes even wrestled it away from him a bit, but as time has proven William Shatner’s vision for the show and Captain Kirk was the correct one .

Loved that series when I was 14 in the early to mid 60s I became a Trekkie from the 1st episode. Then TNG, Deep Space 9, Voyager and Enterprise. Wasn’t crazy about the latest series though with Jean Luc Picard. He was just too old to be out in space at age 90. That series in way too far out, guys kissing guys and girls kissing girls. The latest Star Trek generation has lost its value and It’s just not my cup of tea. All the Star Trek movies were great. Loved all of them.

The actors whose careers faltered after Star Trek were pissed & blamed Shatner. He had hundreds of lines every episode and they had only a few. Gosh I wonder why he didn't go out drinking and partying with them after each shooting like they said. What a bunch of whiners

Uhura quit because she hated working with Shatner. She thought he was a self centered jerk. . I read in one of the books that there definitely was a lot of strife and jealousy on tbe set. I thought Uhura was a hottie. She was one of my faves on the show. It’s amazing that most of the actors have passed on and William Shatner is still hanging in there. I love the guy he’s the one who pioneered all of the trek series. Gotta give him that. I hope I get to live that long. He’s still doing all kinds of TV stuff. What a guy!!!!

Wow, way too long video, just looping the obvious... Read the book "Dinosaur Brains." Captain Kirt wasn't a good leader. His micromanaging was insufferable, it isn't what you find in the military. Frankly, on a Starship, I would think a Kirt personality would probably find himself spaced keel hauled by the crew.

I tried to comment on this, but My Comment, "disappeared, into a black hole", apparently never to be seen, again. There were many mistakes, in this video, particularly changing GENE Roddenberry's gender (it's GENE, not JEAN!!); and George Takei's name, was mispronounced, at least once (as I understand it, The proper pronunciation, as it would be, in Japanese; is Ta- K). The Narrator was right, and still is, about the state of Science Fiction, and Television Programming, being Abysmal. Irwin Allen deserved His "Golden Raspberry", and Shows like "Voyage to The Bottom of The Sea", and "Lost in Space", prove it. Roddenberry first pitched His Show, to CBS, who listened, politely, then chose "Lost in Space", instead. "Time Tunnel", also had potential, but someone at Irwin Allen's Company, or ABC; "killed it". Lack of imagination, and fear of sponsor, and audience reaction, "killed" many good shows; "Star Trek", and Rod Serling's "Twilight Zone", among them. Serling also fought a lot of battles. I cannot believe, how many good "Science Fiction" Shows, have been "flushed, down the toilet", along with good Horror Shows, and articles like this, don't help, the Situation. Let Me ask, one question: Why was Grace Lee Whitney, and Bruce Hyde; unceremoniously "dumped", from the show, both their characters could have been "explained", off the Show, and "brought back", in other episodes; at least, they would have received some additional pay. On a "side note", I cannot fathom, why George Takei, agreed to appear, in John Wayne's Version, of "The Green Berets". Not only was it not "faithful" to Robin Moore's Book; Wayne's prejudices were well known, particularly where The Vietnam (2nd Indochina) War, was concerned, as well as his attitude, toward "Gay" People. Another Article, was completely right, about "The Green Berets"; it was one of Wayne's, worst movies.

I totally agree that there were significant missed opportunities with Uhura-Sulu-Chekov or even Scotty. The show was revolving too much around Kirk and Spock, where it would be just as good, or even better, if it depicted a true team work. If that was due to Shatner's ambition, then in my opinion he's really at fault here.
@feylis0731
@feylis0731 7 күн бұрын
It revolved around the three main characters. Kirk, Spock, and Bones. The other regulars were hired as supporting players and the rest of the cast were guest stars or extras. That's the way tv series were handled back then. An ensemble cast of revolving players and story lines is a relatively new thing. Even the Mission Impossible show was run that way. And they had at least five main characters at different times.

@@feylis0731 From that perspective of the practical issues within the filming industry it probably makes sense. From the viewers' perspective such as myself, there are still missed opportunities. Of course one could argue that they made better use of the supporting cast in the course of the series (and the movies). I still wish they had been given a greater function in the stories though. Moreover the subject in this video is Shatner and his role in blocking further advancement of the supporting characters. I wanted to express my criticism for that, if it's true of course.
@feylis0731
@feylis0731 6 күн бұрын
@@onetrueevan6992 , I totally agree that it would have been fun to see more of the supporting players and even their back stories like they do now. I'm just saying that series were handled differently back then and that it wasn't unusual for the main star to get a big head or try to control how much screen time or lines they got. Many of those old actors are famous for being generous with their costars and crew. Obviously Shatner was one of the ambitious ones. I've also heard that said about Nimoy. It's too bad we'll never know how the others would have acted if they'd been the leads.

When I was like six I used to watch it at 9:00. The blue puppet Baloc scare the bejesus out of me. Then in the end there was little Clint Howard sitting on the bed drinking is orange juice. I thought if he's not scared of it I'm not scared of it cuz we're the same age. Ruminating for days and days how does that one little guy run that entire ship the old little complex and the whole gigantic enormous Fesarius. I always wondered did he have a crew inside the mothership? Open ended I guess.

Without Shatner it just woukdnt have worked. Shatner is Kirk. Even in Generations Picard stood in awe of him. Shatner's ability to make Kirk THE hero us highlighted in Picard where Matalas has Kirk in a tube at Section 31...(Im sure w/a label that says in case if last minute emergency break glass. The way he plays the character gices that feeling that when all is lost & he shows up then some how, some way things will work out.
