Glad to see you are doing well... I worked with you in Palatka as a first year Ironworker apprentice... I remember working with your father at Seminole. I also remember you showing me pictures of you in the hospital after the crash... Glad I found your youtube channel...

I've listened to gene Odom for years. He tells the truth . It's amazing he survived the plane crash. He puts the blame squarely on the pilots . If they would have survived gene would have killed them. Gene struck me as a real thumper. You didn't mess with Gene.

*DISCLAIMER: Everything I wrote here is ON THE RECORD and can be found via multiple sources* _Artimus Pyle is a Registered Sex Offender out of North Carolina, a sex crime on two little girls 4 and 8_ I believe their ages were. He could have gotten LIFE in prison for these charges but copped a plea with prosecutors. I will be believing ole Gene thank you very much, I'm from Harlan County, KY, I respect men like Gene (I'm one of them..). Can't blame a man for trying to make a dollar.

God I AM SO SICK OF HEARING HER SAY “so in the movie” after Gene repeatedly tells her NOTHING IN THE MOVIE IS HOW IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED!🙄🙄 WHO IS THIS GIRL ANYWAY? She’s a terrible interviewer and obviously knows nothing about the band.

Owning & operating a pharmacy ~100 miles north of JAX for the last 25 years (and still going), drumming for a local band in my youth, being a big fan of LS since the 70s, and seeing them at Hanner Field House with LeBlanc & Carr in Statesboro 1 week before the tragedy, this video felt *very* relevant. I could listen to Gene’s stories for days. I was 17yrs old and the news of the tragedy bothered me for a long time. R.I.P. Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, Dean and the others who lost their lives that day. Lynyrd Skynyrd had ‘top shelf’ talent. 👍

Gene, You are the Mean Machine Man, I met you in 1998 I think it was that year, I walked into the Entrance to the Arena and saw you, I saw some books , so i came over to your Table, You told me who you are and told me Stories for 30 Minutes, Plane Crash Survivor, Well not knowing who you were, I had No idea that Ronnie and You grew up together, and hired you as A Bodyguard, I had to buy your Book then, and you signed it, thank you Sir , it was A Honor, A Privilege And A Pleasure For the I spent with you, Then, I had to think about what you just told me, and go out and Hear the Tribute Tour Band, I still think about that Day My Friend, Cousin Figel

I know it was an Awesome Experience being with the band in their prime. Just alone, growing up with Ronnie & being best friends. The fishing trips they took. I could only imagine all the stories Gene could tell. I would like to hear some of the things he keeps inside that only he knows about. I know for sure he had his hands full with that group of guys. Trying to keep them sober.... lol . Just imagine hiding their booze. I bet they gave him hell over that stuff. Gene seems like a down to earth, stand up guy. I can see why RVZ wanted him with him.

That’s the thing that Gene always says that Ronnie’s wife called a band meeting and said it’s all over. She was never in the band. I guarantee that was the first meeting she ever called because. Since when did bandmembers wives ever rule over what a rock band does?
