Did you watch the video? @1:45, service connector. You can also Google Honda CRV service connector. You ask for more detail, but your question itself is vague. 😅

Is the bent feeler gauge necessary or can I use a flat style?
@roninmotors74667 ай бұрын
you can use either or even bend a flat one.

5:35 off-lobes can help indicate which cylinder at TDC. Lobes pushing down means valves are pushed down, aka that cylinder is not TDC Set exhaust more loose side cause tendency to end up too tight. 10:20 test drive

are those dowel pins between the head and block necessary? are they to "help" you align things or do you absolutely need them?

Jeez so many people with honda experience this and it seems like everyone is a mechanic but me lol. I need help and don't know an easy way to fix this.

I have a 2000 CRV and i have the same dang problem. I just wish I knew what I can recommend asking the mechanic to get right to the point without having to replace the entire Head, cause i'm also thinking about junking the car.

does the oil pump for the B20B have O ring on the other surface apart from crank seal?

Very informative! Thank you! I’m about to look at a crv with the same exact issue. Only asking $1,000 so I think it would be worth it even if I had to buy a new head or even borrow one from my LS integra. I’m hoping a burnt/broken valve isn’t the issue. It’ll be hard to diag in the guys driveway so I’m going to take a gamble. It currently runs on all 4 just has a rough idle so we shall see
@roninmotors7466 Жыл бұрын
for $1000 its worth it! LS heads are easy to find and swap out affordably. Good Luck!!

That a big job, me it may take me like a week to do it, because, just changing the intake manifold gasket took me four days just to clean the old gasket from the engine block, the gasket was like welded to the engine, it was harder than the metal, I had to go slowly and easy so I don't damage the engine surface.

So is there a way to tell if the valve guide seals are bad on a replacement head just by looking at it?
@SmudgyContent Жыл бұрын
How resilient are these engines? I just bought my friends CRV, she’s been driving it for about a year with it misfiring. I tried adjusting the valves and no compression to cylinder 4. Think the valves are stuck open. Hope I can get away with just replacing the head…

I rebuilt my b18b1 integra engine and it sounded exactly like yours. On my way to the shop to do the timing, the timing belt snapped! Lol. Gonna assess the damage and see if anything is broken 🥲

Hey i have an issue i was going to adjust the valve on my b20b because my engine making lots of valve noise and i notice the bigger bolt under the valve adjustment bolt is loose and i dont know if i can just tight them by hand or anything… wish you can help me thank you
@WoWFishBots Жыл бұрын
Very helpful videos enjoy your time spent and my cylinder head is back in action. Bolting up all of the timing stuff now and will have my B20B4 running again like you! To anyone with endless misfires you cant seem to figure out or fix it is most likely a burnt out or bent exhuast valve. Lots of people dont two step torque the cam hokder bolts and it causes binding on the valve rocker arms. Then you have them free floating in your engine with a bent valve to go along with your dancing rocker. Lmao that is exactly how I received my CRV when I bought it for 900$. Now 1500$ later I have a machined head. Not happy about the costs in trouble shooting but always do a compression test before doing ANY work on these engines. My grandfather was right. A compression test saves so much time and headaches. Hope some of my advice here helps someone in need and helps em save mulah. Power to Ronin for making this vid much details here!

My 99 randomly threw an abs light when I changed my oil and now it won’t start, cranks but no spark. I know I had some abs codes for a few days prior to changing the oil, I only removed the spark plug wires from the head to cycle the oil pump. it was driving fine for the 2 days after scanning before the abs light was on. Gonna scan it again and see what new codes I may have and do what you video shows. My transmission speed sensor also makes the Speedo go crazy if I move the connector

mm vs in. (metric vs. imperial) I show the factory hood sticker @4:34 factory showing lash specs (Intake= 0.10+/-0.2mm; Exhaust=0.18+/-0.2mm) I always encourage people to refer to factory manuals, factory stickers or google the specs themselves. Obviously it is very easy to make mistakes while filming, speaking and working with one hand or even watching. This helps prevent confusion and 1am replies.
