I love the chair! You always find the most amazing things. Each year we have a HUGE flea/antique market in my area held at the Expo Center. I can't wait! I like using a food grade mineral oil to restore wood that is really dried out. It makes such a difference in bringing out the wood grain.

For garments/curtains/fabrics I normally fill the bath with tepid water and some white vinegar and a tablespoon of Baking Soda. I also pre-treat by sprinkling baking soda on any stains. Soak for a few hours, keeping an eye to make sure no dye bleeds. You will be surprised at how dirty the water gets especially on coats! You may have to do this a couple of times depending on the filth. I think this is called "Stripping". I then rinse the item and then squeeze out excess water before putting it into the washing machine to do a cycle. The Baking soda acts as both a stain remover and deodorizer.

Tip: Always take anything bought second hand that is material, straight to the washer. Throwing it on your bed or sofa immediately may be a bad idea ❤️

Thrifting also usually gives $ to charity. I like to shop where children benefit.

It seems to me that thrift stores as well as GW and Salvation Army are raising their prices w/o considering the condition or the type of item they price. The candle holders look much better in black and I like how you styled them. BTW: Have you re framed the beautiful painting of the lady that looks like you?

I love Monticello! I was a dealer there many years ago and there is not another antique mall like it! Definitely one of my favorites ever! A little tip for centering your art is to use the glass to place over it and cut around! Such pretty bird prints! I have been wanting to go shop at Monticello for months and now I think I will have to get there sooner to look through the bird prints and all the goods!

With the hummingbird print, the numbers by the birds can indicate which way to hang the print.

I live your tbrifting videos! Just wanted to respond to the challenge regarding the quality of store items 1:52 in your area. First, the thrifting is only as good as the other stores and populous in one's area. For instance, there are statistically higher amounts of Oregon Myrtlewood items created in your area than in the midwest. Even with mass-produced souvenirs and shipping, there will sill be more in your area. Therefore, there will be a greater proportion of Myrtle Wood in your local thrift shops. It is then, inherent that some areas will just have thrift stores that sell different things. Although frequenting thrift stores will enhance the chance of getting that score, it will not change the fact that items in one area of the country are just better than in other areas. Thank you.

You can always go to UPS store and ship your items home.

Sarah, I'm so glad you got the painting. She really looks like you! 1967!! ohmygosh! The frame was not a quality one, imo. You can easily have it replaced at a good framing shop. They will be able to suggest the right frame that matches the age of the painting. Based on the pictures you took of the back try and research some more information. This should be very interesting. Another way to be sure and cut something just where you want it it to use the frame’s glass as your template. You can see exactly where your image will be. Pencil around it to cut. Perfect every time!

I love shopping at antique malls because you find, I think, a lot more variety, even though the prices are higher due to booth expenses. The mall you visited has really beautiful items. I suggest keeping the writing on the bottom of the print and placing it in the frame behind the print. I love those prints too. Great finds.
