You might consider your audience in your delivery. If the average person is who you’re making these videos for, and I assume that’s the case since anyone in your field wouldn’t likely need this, then you may want to consider if your word choice is inviting and effective (not accurate, effective). Nuchai, vertebral border, medial border, lumbar pathology, protraction, pocenian core pussels… I have no idea how any of that is spelled, clearly…. But it gets worse from there. Honestly, no one knows what that medical terminology means. It’s clinical and it comes off as cold and off-putting. I’m quite sure you are very good at what you do. I’m also quite sure your desire is to help. Your body language and tone are friendly and genuine. Those are the reasons I’m taking the time to share this point of view for consideration. If you want to effectively communicate with the average non medical field person, then you need to talk like them. If medical field folk is your target, carry on.

I did not expect this to instantly (albeit momentarily) take away my knee pain. I knew my pirifomis was tight along with other muscular and mobility issues on my left side. I have been massaging it with a ball, but not with this opening technique. Wow, what a difference it makes.

Your discussion of TA activation does not define the terminology adequately. I do not understand what you are saying. I am not a physical therapist but you should devote a separate segment where you define the terminology adequately so that I can come back to this video and understand it.

This made me realize that he crick in my neck I’ve been carrying around for months was my upper trap, NOT my levator 🤭. I finally self-released using a tennis ball with my head rotated TOWARD the affected side-worked like a charm.

Not bad, and the rationale should work for some people. However, you should not assume that a trigger point - usually a cluster of trigger points in the vastus lateralis muscle at that level - is the same as an adhesion. Also, your shear is only going to be vertical because muscles only pull. Next, if the patient has low muscle mass, is heavy and the roller is hard enough, pinning the muscle between the roller and the bone can exert enough force to cause myofacial trigger points. Still, If you need a quick fix and can't afford a professional massage therapist, this could work. Good job. Sorry if evaluating critically sounds negative. The idea of shearing from the inside to avoid trying to manipulate through the IT band is very innovative and a great idea.

This does nothing and you'll be there forever. Just get dry needling

It doesnt seem youre applying much pressure? I would think at the level of pressure you appear to be using you'd barely activate the skin tissue much less the fascia under it? Also in the close up section of the video it seems your stretching the fascia while using the mobiliation tool, is that right?

Hey Brent, these feel great and are helping me when other exercises aren’t working. What would you say is a good set/rep combo and how many times per week to aim for on these if starting from the first progression? (I can’t even get my thumbs to touch the floor with keeping tight form)
