I think the limited seats make it easier to get attached to drivers in f1 than it is in indycar. I love indycar but coming in as a newer racing fan it was difficult to understand the teams and the drivers because the field can be so large. This is part of why i am cautiously optimistic for the charter system going into next season. It is frustrating though that in f1 there are so many good drivers and not enough space. Anyways i know its not as popular as f1 but i hope you consider doing an indycar season recap during the three weeks we’re off from f1!

15:32 Hey, technically, the mclaren 'mini-DRS was only used on the low downforce spec rear wing, which is only likely to be used again in Vegas and therefore wasn't used in Singapore as they went back to their normal rear wing spec and also wasn't ruled on by the fia mclaren offered to change it proactively. (There is a dispute about if mclaren offered to change it or was forced to change it but either way it was likely only going to be seen again in Vegas

Hi! Just found your videos. Here is an interesting story for ya: While searching about Gordon Smiley i learned that in 1979 there was 2 diferent series that raced Formula one cars, the grand prix world driver championship run by the fia, and the AURORA BRITISH FORMULA ONE CHAMPIONSHIP. The aurora series used obsolete year old Formula one cars, that raced mainly in The United Kingdom. In a team called Melchester Racing there was a young south african called Desiré Wilson, she was 25 and eventually won in the Aurora series in 1980, and she, to this day remains the only woman to win a Formula One race of any kind!

This book is definitely one of my favourites and I really love Bree and Nathan's dynamic. I agree with you about the found family feel from Nathan and his teammates. It's one of my favourite parts about the book and as a person who has never watched NFL, I felt like I learned a little about the lifestyle of football players.

I just discovered your channel recently and it's awesome to see you partner with Amanda! Def agree that George Russell tries to project this posh vibe, but I think recently the Mercedes team tiktok has been doing a decent job at playing up his personality to younger fans by having him participate in more silly/ meme style videos. There's also the iconic "FACT!" 2019 rookie powerpoint presentation and the 2020 Twitch streams, which I think does show he has a sillier side that people don't really associate with him now. IMO Mercedes has been slacking on the social media game until recently, at least compared to other teams like Red Bull and McLaren that have made silly personality-based driver content for years. I think these have helped Max especially, since without seeing a sillier and more human side of him it would be easy for fans to villainize him in his dominance era. Mercedes also probably has a bit more trouble with silly content given that Lewis doesn’t seem to do a lot of it (which is totally valid), so George appears solo in most of them, when a huge part of these videos is the dynamic between the two drivers. It's a lot easier to come off as funny and natural when interacting with another person versus just having to play to the camera solo.

Thank you!! I think you're definitely right about the dynamic between the drivers being important for fan perception -- Lewis and George just have such polar opposite vibes that it feels hard to mix the two together in a way that feels genuine online. I'm curious to see what the dynamic looks like with Kimi next year!

i haven’t finished the whole podcast but i have to say, oscar is about to become the better driver in mclaren and i think that is affecting the team’s decisions. i don’t think lando would’ve had to compromise so much if mclaren were confident that he’s their number one driver (like how clearly max is favored against checo etc). but i’m not a mclaren fan either so i don’t follow stuff about that teams as much, maybe i’m totally wrong idk.
@marissakumari
@marissakumari 29 күн бұрын
thats a fair assessment! I think at the beginning of the season, it felt like Lando was out driving Oscar, but nerves and team orders are getting in the way now, and they can't figure out how to commit to one over the other. So much of the "we have two #1 drivers quotes" feel like there's just so much indecision about the direction of the team
@zeynepgundogdu7420

@@marissakumarii think oscar is becoming more ruthless than lando and the team isn’t saying explicitly that he should step back and let lando take the lead. he’s using his opportunity, which is understandable but if mclaren doesn’t want to give away wdc to red bull they have to establish team orders and motivate lando in a way where he is more confident about oscar. in the long term i do think oscar will be the better driver out of the two but definitely not this season (at least in terms of total points collected).

As a Lando fan, it breaks my heart to see the way his relationship with McLaren has shifted. When I see Lando racing and his speed I see so much potential there but potential is a dangerous word and as lando fan I would love nothing more than to get into his head and be like Lando you can do this. I genuinely feel like the mistakes he makes and the bad starts and what’s keeping him from winning is his mental blocks and not driver skill, they creep in at crucial moments in the race. At the end of the day the most important thing in racing is you have to be fast, max said when they asked him about giving advice to Kimi, he said he needs to focus on being fast. As much as I like Oscar I genuinely think Lando is the faster driver and Oscar is the more skillful driver. Lando can use his speed to his advantage. There is reason the qualifying head to head is 13-3 and Lando constantly beating Oscar for pole having 4 poles and a sprint pole while Oscar has had none. Lando is so in tune with his emotions that he cannot hide them so every race week you see it . He looks like a puppy who gets beaten down every race that goes by because he knows he could’ve done better. Oscar is looking at this and is like now is the time to attack, you have to go for your rival when he is at his weakest and right now Lando is going through those faces. I don’t blame Oscar for doing this at all any ruthless racing driver would, he definitely has that killer mindset which is a big psychological advantage to have over someone. I think he is a perfect example of being ruthless without having to be an asshole. I will stick with Lando wherever he ends up, hopefully he prevails from this phase, I’ve seen him have bad races and be able to pick himself back up before but he also needs the teams help and I’m not asking him to give him the championship, they need to just give him the confidence of you can do this Lando where all behind you regardless if you loose this championship by 2 or 10 Points at least you tried and we, Oscar, and you go again next year.

I agree that James is determined to make Williams a top team again, but he's so focused on that vision that he's missing the present reality. Team principals at Mercedes, Red Bull, McLaren, and Ferrari are forgiven because their teams are winning and competing for championships. But Williams isn't there yet-they're still struggling. James needs a PR manager to help him manage his public statements, not just for the team's image but also for sponsors and future drivers. As an Alex Albon fan, it worries me to see how James is presenting himself. I’m concerned about Alex's seat next year, especially since the details of his multi-year contract are unclear.

Lando is so talented and skilled, Piastri has so much potential, but neither the drivers nor the team are experienced being up at the front. They're used to fighting in the midfield and don't feel comfortable controlling the race. Ferrari is similar (but less excusable since they have so much recent experience at or near the front). McLaren is getting there though, they clearly have a technical team that's firing on all cylinders and arguably the best driver pairing on the grid, I'm excited for their future. Always nice to get your take on what's happening in f1, keep up the good work!

Idk when I think Tommy H I don't think of high fashion, I think of Nordstrom Rack and Costco. Hamilton always arrives dressed extremely fashionably but it doesn't connect to TH for me. Adidas is a step up, it'll be interesting to see what they wear. LH is unreplaceable in more ways than one but it will be interesting how the dynamic changes.

I've been looking for more female F1 content creators so I'm so glad to have stumbled upon your channel! You have such a clear way of explaining your points and great production value in your videos, and I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers! It's disappointing that this book positions itself to legitimize women in F1/ motorsport, but it kind of perpetuates negative stereotypes about women in sports media/ fandom spaces. (Ex. "women are only in the field because of relationships to men" and "women are not serious fans who have done their research.")

They already found that the report that the inquiry came in at a minute and four seconds was false, the USA has proof in video they submitted the inquiry 47 seconds in, well within the one minute allowed, and the coaches have sent all that in; they’re are not just rolling over and handing the medal back.
