Just finished this whole series this week. It grew on me, but there is definitely a need to slightly suspended disbelief on the technical side of things. The radios drove me crazy! I just kept going shhhhhh, and saying there was no way they would relay that info on an open channel or let that person talk. The series as a whole keeps more to the people side of things and is romance first and formula second and that has it’s pros and cons. I felt the Pit-Stop series by Bridget L. Rose does a fantastic job of getting into the technical side of things once you get into Rush, Chase, and Reserved. Though there is definitely quite a bit of character trait pulling from the current grid in those and that can be a hard one for some. Valentina is an original powerhouse of a character though in that series.

Another book that I have read that is an f1 romance that mentions about f1 quite a bit is a book called Chasing Daisy by Paige Toon. Her book was released in 2009 and it is crazy how she was able to incorporate how the f1 world works for a book being released in that time. the main female character (Daisy) works in hospitality for a team in F1 and has fallen in love with one of the drivers that is also part of the same team. The romance wasn't particularly my cup of tea but I loved the book so much purely based on the discussions they had on f1 with the mentions of practice, qualifying and the races as well as contracts and sponsors, events.

I have read this book earlier this year (with knowing not much about Formula 1), and I liked it. The second book in this series however… put me off reading the rest of the series. (But that’s because of Liam‘s nationality and how a lot of his backstory just doesn’t make any sense to someone who really grew up in Germany).

So curious - after reading, did you end up watching any Formula 1?

@@marissakumari not really - it sparked my interest in watching formula 1, but I just don’t have the time to watch every sport I want to. So if it’s on and I have the time, sure, but it didn’t make me a diehard fan of the sport.

Throttled and Collided aren’t as good as the last two! Imo but still, Wrecked and Redeemed are (heartbreakingly) amazing with the stories and characters personalities having more depth. Although the technical aspects of the sport don’t make any sense (except in Redeemed, what Noah worked on for Santiago is theoretically possible, similar to Robert Kubica in 2019) they are still great stories
