While I think it’s possible and I would welcome it, I think the most we would get is a nod to him, this massive Dragonborn holding off a pack of ruidians or something on the other side of the plaza split off from them by the fighting. The reason I say this is because I genuinely feel like in recent months CR has taken GREAT pains to avoid anything like D&D proper lore. Like they NEVER refer to Vecna by name or even ANY of the gods ….. it feels to me like they are taking great pains to distance themselves from anything cross canon. And with Arkhan being IN the avernus book ….. I dunno, I have no clue on any sort of trademarks or anything.

I absolutely agree with you on the most impactful from Vox biting it would be Vex. That would be soul crushing, I think, for most everyone in VM. Keyleth would be my second option, just because of the story as it is now in C3. As far as someone from M9 biting it, I would honestly say that it would be Nott, just because I think it would pull on heartstrings the hardest. Not saying it's scripted, but I think if Mercer were to target members, in order to pull the best out of everyone else, he'd have the baddies target Nott. As far as Bells Hells.... if anyone from that group dies, imma be destroyed. LOL I do think that the most in danger would be Chetney. I feel like he'd have a heart attack mid battle. LOLOL. I do think Imogen will be the one to go though

I think Matt took over opal simply bc Aimee isn’t a terribly experienced player and she took so much time to figure out her moves. Don’t think Matt wants to take 15 minutes every time her turn rolls around bc he’s running 8 pcs and god knows how many groups of npcs. Joe M is a dnd nerd and knows his character and the rules so it wouldn’t impede the game if he did guest. Plus there’s the unfinished biz btwn the hand of vecna and VM.

Gonna be honset, I hope not. Didn't like Arkhan in the campaign one, and how overrated his "One of the best moments in the campaign one" was.

If my memory serves me right and the final session of campaign 1 they had 10 people at the table. Unfortunately due to circumstances it was for a very brie period of time though.

So here’s my theory I don’t think they’re done with Exandria but I feel like there’s going to be a in game time skip. Which depending on how long the jump is could lead to some members of Vox machia, the mighty nien and the bells hells to have died of old age. Even if wrong I doubt we get these characters in c4 I really think this is going to wrap things up c1 and c2 and those characters will be retired pretty much permanently outside of one shots and such. To get to the point yes arkhan should show up in some way even just for a moment.

I am going to be so happy with all the tricks up Matt's sleeves that he is going to roll out/reveal to us. I like how he made this in to a 3 part movie with an obvious Segway in to a 4th. Honestly I'm bummed out and already want them to start a campaign 4 but I think if we are lucky we might see that late next year. I'm really sad about that. W/ 2 20th lvl clerics (one of which is possible a grave cleric) and 2 20th lvl druids ain't no way VM is dying...the most likely one is Vex and I would attribute that to a high resurrection DC given that she's died a lot. For M9 it might be possible though again 2 clerics and 20th lvl wizard ._. so unlikely Now for BH, I am gonna preface this by saying: I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED if half of BH drops unconscious after round one of ludinous and the rest is injured OR 1 drops dead dead round one (power word kill)...like one time stop and a lot of them would drop from 100hps EASILY BH ain't surviving! 😬 specially because there is no cleric in their group either.

I haven’t finished the season yet but I have to say the writing for season 3 has been TERRIBLE so far! I loved seasons 1 and 2 but 3 is a step down. Here are my main issues: 1. There’s no tension. Episode one lost me completely. In the original the party doesn’t encounter Thordak ever until the final battle. Having them do an early fight where they face not one but TWO legendary dragons AND come out unscathed killed any tension for me. Season 2 had me terrified of these things. Now they don’t seem scary or threatening, they seem incompetent; running around unable to catch, kill or even injury a single member of VM. Would have been better if Keyleith did a scrying spell. 2. They keep splitting the party! I get that they have a lot of ground to cover but VM is at its best when they are all together to bounce off each others chemistry. Also we spend alot of time with other characters that don’t further their development but takes up time I would rather spend with VM. If a party member needs to leave, let it have an impact! Scanlan chooses to go find his daughter only to return an episode later which made it feel like a waste of time! You only have 12 episodes, make them count! If they couldn’t make that story beat impactful then it should have just been cut. This leads into my 3rd and biggest issue. 3. Pacing. I was shocked at how poorly written episode 2 of season 3 was. Literally nothing of consequence happens and potential cool moments or character choices are brushed aside or skipped over. Scanlan leaves (again) only to show up and do a meta Ace Attorney Joke. Because of this the whole later part of the episode again felt wasted! Here is a guy with superhuman levels of charisma and we spend all this time with scenes that drag on or go nowhere but when you have a chance to show that he can actually persuade a group of guards taking his friends to JAIL, to should return to the city’s leader so he can represent them legally ONLY to skip it all for an ok joke!? There was so much unneeded filler in this episode which made it boring to watch and left me upset by the end because of how much better it could have been handled. 4. Characters are not themselves. Did anyone else find themselves groaning when Allura, a normally very logical and calm thinker under pressure acted like an emotionally unstable moron with an iq of 60? I get what they were going for, her girlfriend is in danger so she goes “beast mode,” but honestly it didn’t work. This I assume was an attempt to make allura seem more human and give her more realistic flaws but we haven’t spent enough time with her in seasons 1 and 2 to appreciate the departure of personality they intended. She came across as reckless, idiotic and selfish by risking other people’s lives, (including Kimas) instead of relying on what makes her character interesting. But above all, I HATE what they’ve done to Pike. The Hell episode was the best so far of the season but to have it all lead up to Pike ABANDONING her god is the stupidest thing you could think of. This to me feels like the writers wanted to put in there own personal feelings about religion and give this CLERIC a cool girl boss moment where instead of “I don’t need no man” it’s “I don’t need no God,” I mean wtf were they thinking? It was neat having Pike have some doubts about her faith and explore what her relationship to her deity is, that’s pretty neat. But they completely ruined her character and background just for a “cool” moment. ALSO: it is so stupid that we had multiple main characters not at the thordak showdown. It made the whole thing feel less epic. I remember how sweaty my hands were as I watched the original battle take place. The buildup, the strategy, sneaking into the city and moving through level after level to reach thordak at the center of it all. 10/10. I dunno if the writers strike affected who was able to work on this season and for how long but it is not up to snuff. My overall thoughts are, I’m annoyed because CR showed us good writing, good pacing and great action with emotional stakes behind them in seasons 1 and 2 but season 3 just seems rushed with little to no investment or misplaced motivations that lack stakes. It feels like the show runners were so bogged down with a deadline that they cared more about crossing the finish line than delivering a well written well paced story. Im a fan of CR. I was there at the beginning during campaign 1. I’m not a hater. I’m just disappointed by what we were given vs what the creators proved they COULD have given from season 1 and 2. 5/10. Mixed bag. Some fun and amazing moments but a lot of bad plot developments and writing that soured the enjoyment of the viewing experience.

Am the only one when cerkronos art was revealed thought he could be a monk. When I first saw him I just thought he gave off monk vibes he's not wearing armor and he's got the staff. If he was could have been a demon homebrew it to let him use strength he has 25 in strength and 20 in wisdom. Have a nice 21 AC and probably a +3 staff and 1d10+7 unarmed strikes.

When it comes to Matt's characters, i'm fine with him not voicing most of them. They want to give space to more diverse VA's who can reflect the characters in ways Matt couldn't. And i'm calling it right now: he absolutely won't be voicing all the three between Essek, Ludinus and Lucien. They're too much of recurring characters to have the same voice, even with Matt's range. Also, i feel the criticism towards Grog not getting the deck it's a bit unfair. It hinges on the fact that we'll get a BH animated series. That's uncertain, and even if it happens, it's so far away. I wouldn't worry about that. Plus, Bertrand and Lie've aren't essential to the main story of VM. I'm fine with them getting cut.

Eh. It doesnt really matter. All of the c3 characters can go because c3 is the worst. Theyve basically ruined vox machina so no point keeping them around. And m9 is immune to character death as theyll just keep trying divine intervention every single day until it works a la Kingsley.

I think BH are going to be fighting each other at the end. I think the Mighty Nein will be helping some of them. It'll be Doriam Fearn & Ashton against Orym Imogen Laudna & believe it or not Briaus. Ashton & Fearn want power Dorian has a personal vendetta, I've never felt Imogen thoughr this was the right thing. I think she agrees with Orym Laudna will always back her up. Whatever's left of the Nein particularly Caleb will back them up. They don't want to release this horrible thing upon the universe and have to sacrifice one of them. That's disgusting.
