How many have to sprout to turn off heat? I have a tray with pepper and it's about half sprouted
@Smalllouisianahomestead2024
@Smalllouisianahomestead2024 11 сағат бұрын
Generally one or two, of that variety I would shut it off this means the germination has started some may be a little behind but should surface, remember there will be some duds in your seeds so if those don’t come up it dosent mean it’s something you did! Also never mix different types of plants in the same tray because some don’t germinate at the same rate as others like tomatoes for instance I wouldn’t put those in with peppers on a heat mat because tomatoes germinate faster and if you take off heat pad the peppers may not have enough time on the heat and will probably not germinate! Hope this helps!!!

@Smalllouisianahomestead2024
@Smalllouisianahomestead2024 10 сағат бұрын
hmm those are a sweet pepper also they should have the same rate as regular bells 7-14 days, i would pull it off the heat and just leave under the grow light if thats what you are using, if not just leave by a sunny window, but if the seeds are good and were planted at the same depth not too deep, they may just be a little behind but should come up after the heat is removed. also if its on only one half of the tray you can move the others off the mat and leave that half on the heat

I had the LSU extension do my soil test for the garden I amended last year. I recall the ph calculated to the hundredths of a pound so I asked what the target ph was supposed to be. so I could see how well I did this season. @@hannahpothier5329 hey thanks for the question and nope just plant the whole thing it will produce multiple slips from one potato then when you are ready to plant outside just pull out the slips they will have roots attached to them, plant just the slips themselves and you can compost the potato afterwards!
