I remember that! It was on a "funny songs" album we had and played CONSTANTLY. All kinds of silly songs and jokes on it. At the moment all I can think of is "ooey gooey was a worm, a mighty worm was he. He sat upon a railroad track, the train he did not see..." and, "Ladles and jellyspoons! I come before you, to stand behind you to tell you something I know nothing about. Next Thursday, which is good Friday, there'll be a mother's meeting for fathers only. Admission is free, pay at the door. Take a seat and sit on the floor. We thank you for your unkind attention!" Such fun times!

I remember when this song came out and all the kids loved it. Oddly, it made me want to go to summer camp! I asked my mother who said, "We live on a farm. Go run in the woods. Swim in the stream. What can you do at a camp that you can't do here?" I said, "Do it with other kids."

One of her bests. The song writer was a genius . It's kinda a challenging song to get.. All these 7th chords/ suspensions.. and no minor chords.. I love the song..

My poor mother suffered terribly at the hands of my father & when I was 14 had a total breakdown & was schizophrenic from then on. But the real key to my mother's struggles she revealed to me shortly before she died. When she was about 4 she was all dressed up with her older sister who her mother favored. Her Dad made over her so much that she said she felt her mother's jealousy of her. I don't think that went away...her mother rejected her throughout her life... I think poor Naomi suffered the same from a cold, rejecting mother. It really messes people up...

I sang this to my parents on the phone from the wildly overrated and overpriced horse camp they sent me to. I demanded to be brought home immediately. My pony had surgery a couple of days before before I got dumped at that "camp." I never wanted to go in the first place, preferring to stay home and care for Duke. A thirty minute lesson each day and 30 minutes of riding time coupled with ghastly food did NOT thrill me. What a monumental ripoff.

Two artists performed Beach Boys songs with them backing them up. Lorrie Morgan sang "Don't worry, Baby," and Kathy Troccolli sang "I Can Hear Music."These talented artists gave the Beach Boys a run for their money on these two songs. The Beach Boys enjoyed every minute of working with these two greats. Lorrie Morgan sang this song back in 1996. She still delivers it smooth as silk.

Phil Harris on American Sportsman, the funniest line he ever had was while hunting on a cold cold morning and Kurt Gowdy says to Phil “Oh, it looks like you have something running from your nose” and Phil responded, “ SNORT, SNORT, does it look it’s running now?” He sucked it up and I never laughed so hard in my life.

We made our own verses to keep it going.... many would be rated 'X', even by today's standards.... Even got slipped into the boot camp cadence a couple of times..... until the Post Commander heard it.... and he was already pissed with the release of MASH the previous weekend..... one showing only at FtPuke, LA..... ...and I don't think this's funny, but all my bunkmates got the runnies.....
