I know this video is two years old, but I just wanted to comment that I did this MOD with my AP 136 and it works great! I did notice a speed bump too. I mainly fish in the Puget Sound and the lakes in Washington state.

I have watched a ton of your videos. I definitely appreciate the time you have spent and everything that you have shared. I would love to know how your experience has been with rapalas. I see ribbon fish as a popular choice for trolling/drifting. But how do the rapalas fair on a troll? This is how i have caught most of my trolling kings.
@NextLevelFishingTV12 күн бұрын
Thank you for those kind words. Rapalas do well, just depends on the situation. I’ll make a video about the differences between rapala and halcos when it comes to my selections.

1:01 Watched this video with my 9 yr old boy and we both enjoyed it. One of my struggles is to take my boys with me fishing andakenit fun and safe. Im looking for a good tandem kayak for me and my 9 yr old with pedal drive preferably. Would you have a recommendation? We would be sticking inshore around the laguna down south or in the Galveston bay area.
@NextLevelFishingTV5 ай бұрын
@@78smAli excited that both you and your son enjoyed the video! 9 is a fun age but he may also be on the verge of pedaling on his own in about two years or so. That being said and depending on how serious you are I would recommend two things. Low budget option: look at the Ocean Tandem Two or the Tandem Two XL made by Old Town Canoe & Kayaks. High budget: look at the AutoPilot 136 from Old Town. I fished with my 9 year old son with that kayak for over two years till he got a little tall. I have put grown men in the back of the Autopilot and towed two kayaks at the same time with it. In just a year or so he should be able to pedal the Salty PDL from Old Town, I would put yourself in something you enjoy this way when he gets to large you both can crush it.
@NextLevelFishingTV5 ай бұрын
@@78smAli in addition just FYI, you can rig an extra seat on the back of the tank well on the Autopilot 136.

@@NextLevelFishingTV Thanks a bunch Chris, these are great recs! Right now we're using inflatables but I get nervous on the oyster beds in them. I also have a couple teens 15 and 16 who are fishing on their own. Thanks for all the inspiration!

@@billbob670 I actually purchased additional plugs about 3 months ago. Figured it would eventually happen. I have zero issues with battery plugs, the clicking is from motor contact separating due to plastic swelling.

If you are on a budget, go Lead 12v 100Ah (FYI they are heavy) marine deep cycle (Walmart/Autozone etc). If you want to use lithium ion, go Z-PRO 12V 100ah (Expensive but very light).

Good information. I was out at the helipad June 8th. Breakers were at about 3 feet. I was on an autopilot using NK300 motor. No problems getting out. I was thrown out of kayak between 2nd and 3rd sandbar coming back. My first time offshore with nk300. Didn't flip kayak. I just got thrown forward and out. I obviously have better control with1 to 2 foot waves. I'm not a fan of the square back on my Autopilot.
@NextLevelFishingTV7 ай бұрын
The Autopilot is an amazing kayak especially for tournaments, but it doesn’t belong in the surf.
