What kind of bait should you be looking for? Have they switched off of larger mullet? Small baitfish, shrimp, or something else?

Depends, what sort of water are you in?

@@NextLevelFishingTV mostly marsh systems and back lakes, but have been expanding to flats exposed to open bays. I noticed rosacea spoonbills this past weekend in the marsh so I know shrimp are present. Got a couple slots by changing from paddle tail to smaller profile shrimp style lure.

@@lukebazan1320 Brackish areas along the coast can produce slightly different hatchings throughout the year. Shrimp for sure should be making an appearance. Mud minnows or similar hatching typically follow along with crab then shad. Backwater systems can be a little more complex...I would say you are spot on with smaller bait profiles this time of year. If you are noticing a heavy amount of shrimp in your area, really key in on grass. Shrimp will eventually gravitate to it for cover and of course reds will follow. So to answer your question...ditch the large mullet this time of year and search for new, fresh, and small hatchings...fish will be on the hunt too.

Its a little skiff, I don’t use it much other then for scouting. I figured I would use it on my fishing report series for better general reports. Look it up, it’s called Bote Rover.
